i have the audeze lcd 2 rev2 and i am looking to add to my collection a more bassy high end headphone so I was wondering if i am in the right direction

i know some might suggest vmoda or denon but i read denon can be gassy but has problem in mid and highs, vmoda some say its not high end

i look for same audeze sound but with more bass maybe something like this is not out there

Hey @hykhleif

I got my vibro back today and guess what???!?!?!

I was told that It has the final tuning with no added bass and this thing will thump your lcd2 upside the head. DONT ask for more. Trust me!!! with the plugs out the PRO never thumped like this when I had it here... Neither did the LCD2 or any other planar for that matter.

I have a loaner ZMFxVibro on hand and will be doing a full analysis in the next couple weeks (full listening sessions, then will take a full set of measurements). Will compare directly against Alpha Dog, Mad Dog 3.2, Oppo PM-2, HD600, and indirectly against HE-500 and Enigmas. I'll post my initial thoughts, measurements, and such elsewhere on the intertubes and will eventually compile a full review for this site (usually takes 1-3 weeks to compile after posting elsewhere).

I had previously tested a B-stock pair but found they needed some refinement, generally in the upper treble region. I sent them back to Zach with some really basic tweaks and have shared some thoughts back and forth to help him with the more finalized tuning. Haven't yet had a chance to listen to this new pair, but if they're close to the tweaked B-stock pair, I think people will be in for a treat...we'll see.

I can testify to how good the final version sounds, I like mine quite a bit over my non fazor LCD2. Impressions in the normal ZMF thread.

I also find the treble actually less sibilant than the focal spirit pro. Though this headphone is in a different tier... I consider the focal spirit pro to be neutral or close to it. This headphones treble is ballpark close in qty but smoother and less problematic.

I'm liking what I'm reading here. Any more comparisons? Maybe to LCD-2 Fazor or Denon D600/D7100?

I'd love a comparison with the Fostex TH600 - Grizzly, you've had both...thoughts?

The next phone I'm looking for is one for bass and will deal with rock/metal well.  I was pretty set on the TH600 but this has me interested...

With all plugs out this may hit a lot harder. The th600 is a dry sounding headphone with good details and a soundstage that I am not sure the vibro can beat. But the vibro has wayyy better tonality and is a lot easier to listen to in the highs. The imaging and details I would need to a/b together to call. If you dont get the vibro I would skip out on the th600 and go for the Pandora Hope VI or AD, because the th600 is sterile sounding despite its nice bass and soindstage/imaging etc. Its still a good hp though and worthy of its current price tag.

This phone is certainly on my short list for non-open headphones.  I listened to the stock T50RP for a little while, knowing it was very popular to modify when I bought it, but curious about the bass sound.  It was the first headphone/IEM I owned that I really started noticing some details I hadn't before in music, my other headphone at the time of purchase being the SR80i.  I've heard the Mad Dog, but there was something lackluster to the sound for me, which might have been in the bass, I'm not entirely sure.  Everything I've read about the Vibro has it at the top of my list for now, especially after Harley's comment making it sound like the Vibro could be a contender for the LCD 2.2 depending on the type of sound you like.  If I do get the Vibro, I really must decide what color I'm going to have made.  I must admit the blue stain has my interest at the moment, but I'm worried it won't turn out well.

The cost difference between my bottom and top end is...  well, comical.  I know how much money I can spend, just not sure how much I'm willing to spend, especially considering I haven't had a chance to audition either of the 2 expensive options as of yet.  I'm certainly with DaemonSire due to the TH600 and Vibro are both on my list on the lower end.  Of the 5 I'm thinking about, I'm curious about the Blue Mo-Fi for quite a few reasons, and I'm not ashamed to admit 1 of them is I love the aesthetics of the headphone.  The other two on the list are the TH900 and LCD-XC, but while I have no doubt they'll be the best two performers as far as quality, I'm not sure how well the XC will match up with my preference for sound sig, and I'm also not quite sure I'm willing to spend that much on a headphone.  It does, however, have quite a lot going for it that I'd enjoy, partially due to it's fairly easy to drive nature, which would give me some nice listening options for players.  I guess after I go out and audition them I'll see if I fall in love, or decide I'm happier staying in a lower price bracket.

Sorry for the ramblings, I know they're kind of off topic, just thinking out loud helps me with decisions sometimes.  Heck, just typing this out made me realize Vibro's my #1 choice if I had to pick right now.

Hmm, apparently I need to look at the Pandora Hope VI.  Thankya Grizzlybeast

harley u saying that ur zmf is better than the lcd2 rev2 needs quite a little bit more explanation as that is a big statement

I am in the process of buying a zmf and i am just finalising few things with Zach

But Harley can you tell why you said its better than lcd2 as I will hold it against you once I get the zmf ( just kiddin )

Thanks for the info.  Would you be able to say the X Vibro's do metal well?

Also, I'm curious on the comfort difference between the pilot pad and leather strap?

Have you checked out some of my impressions in the other ZMF thread, there is a few paragraphs in there between the LCD2.2 and the ZMF from me.
