Hello everyone,

I have been a long time lurker on Head-Fi, and I figure it is well time I signed up. I wouldn't call myself an audiophile. I don't have the training or vocabulary for such a label. However, I do have a passion for listening to all types of music-- I always have. Unfortunately, I also have the insatiable drive to collect and tinker. Starting with baseball cards, comic books, and dust I started collecting things fairly young.  The current obsessions, my friend's words not mine, I have are two fold: building and breaking PCs and collecting and modding headphones to my taste. I don't think the latter, along with collecting dust, will ever cease. So I joined Head-fi.

Long time lurker, gotten a lot of good advice without posting here. I went from having 1, maybe 2 pairs of headphones and now 7 in the short amount of time I've been lurking, my wallet hates this place.

Finally had to start posting because i got bitten by the custom cable bug and I needed help, got it right away in the DIY thread.

Haha thanks! Ive already spent a little bit on headphones and customs! Planning to get another custom within the next year or so. Currently between the k10s and Roxanne's!

You should check out Alclair Customs to, I have the RSMs and they are absouletly amazing. They came out with 2 new ones called Studio64 and Spire. I was thinking of getting the Studio64 soon when I have some extra money.

I'm Bill. I live in Birmingham AL, USA. I already asked a question (but never received a reply) about rehabbing an old pair of Sennheiser HD450's I had left over from my days in broadcasting. My main pair of headphones are HD650's, but I've also picked up a pair of Urbanites XL and Momentums to go with my portable players. I use the O2+ODAC as a DAC and amplification source.

I only recently got back into headphones in a big way and am enjoying them a lot (though my ears are plenty sore.)

Hey guys new to the audiophile world and was looking to take a plunge and pick up a nice set of headphones. I only have ever had lower end ear buds/ over ears. So I have finally decided to splurge and pic up a decent set. My budget will be around 300 bucks, I mainly listen to technical deathcore/metal and reggae(lol yes i know two opposite spectrums) ill post examples below. But I was looking for opinions from more experienced ears than mine.Style wise I like the styling of Vmodas, but i do not like leather and prefer cloth as leather makes me feel sweaty haha. So if anyone could help me out I thank you very much, if not, I will make a thread soon hoping to get direct answers when I can or at least when It doesn't have to be approved as im a noob here. Thanks again .

Took a quick look at them - they look promising. They are also very reasonably priced! Will do some more research when the time comes! Thanks for your suggestion!

Hi! Long long long time lurker but finally decided to create an account here as I have been getting more and more into the headphones market after being much more interested in the speaker/stereo area for much of my life (this is due to the lady with sensitive ears... haha).
