Havi B3 Pro-1 Impressions Thread

I think I do too. I give my Havi more listening time at least, even though they somewhat hurt my ears compared to the Tenore. The Tenore are one of my top 3, but I think they fall in third place now next T1-E and B3.

If you like the HPH-200 and Tenore @Grayson73 like me, I can't see you not liking the sound of T1-E! ...and to a little lesser extent the B3(once burned in some). I do use the Havi amped though it works well enough without too, so I can see why you'd be a little hesitant... I guess Mo above uses em' without

They are all fantastic though! And fairly cheap too.

A gentle reminder that the crowds camping here for your impressions is getting larger and impatient. Better submit your review before you see the axe starts coming through your door.

ROTFL!!!!

It's coming, it's coming! I'm almost finished, just gotta add a few more details and it'll be ready. I don't wanna disappoint!! :D

My god I just got mine earlier today. Far and away better than the earphones I've owned previously. Though they were all just "budget kings" this does seem like a noticeable step up from earphones like the GR06 or the Xiaomi Pistons. I don't have anything substantial to add about the sound considering the 115 pages of commentary already here, but I will say that the soundstage doesn't sound as expansive as everyone is making it out to be. That's not to say the soundstage is not adequate however. I simply expected more. The only concern I have about these earphones is their ability to withstand daily use and survive years into the future. The cabling that goes from the Y split to the headphones looks a bit flimsy but only time will tell. But again, sound quality is incredible and I agree completely with the sentiments about its detailed and accurate sound signature.

EDIT: I also want to say that I'm using them out of my desktop PC and a cheap Android phone and they sound very good and more than loud enough. Exactly what type of benefit would an amp provide?

The difference between amped and unamped is immense. The soundstage becomes more noticeable amped, as well as having increased clarity. It would be a waste to run the Havi without an amp. If you like it now, you'll be blown away with even the smallest of amps.

Get the Topping NX1, SMSL sAP-5, or Fiio E11k to use for your android phone (and maybe the PC too). They are still budget enough to keep your total cost under $100, and you will get a sound that many $200+ setups wish they could achieve.

The SMSL M2 would actually be best to use with both your PC and phone. You can use the M2 as a USB DAC with the PC to achieve an even better sound (it might work with your android too), and it has the same amp built in as the NX1 and sAP-5.

Just in terms of money spent though, would the extra sound quality from a $50ish amp like those you listed be greater than an extra $50 spent purchasing more expensive earphones?

Do you think that using the Fiio X3 will be powerful enough with these Havis ?
