I have a Samsung S3 phone with a 64GB memory card. Do you know if the micro iDSD will work straight out of the box playing DSD 64 files? Or do I need a special type of app on the phone. I think USB host is available on my phone but I have no clue how the rest would work out. Some kind of insights on Android would be great.
I have downloaded the Onkyo Player for my iPad so I know it works there but my iPad is only 16GB and I am looking for a smart way to play my DSD files (current collection is around 40GB) without spending to much extra on hardware. So if the Android solution would work that would be great. Right now I cant test it myself because I don't own the nano iDSD.
Hi,
App needed:
USB Audio Player Pro
(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.extreamsd.usbaudioplayerpro)
For a list of Android devices supported:

- Android device that can run Android 4.1 or above
- USB Host mode has been enabled by the Android manufacturer
- Android device running Android Open Accessory (AOA) protocol version 2.0
This is all open-sourced material so you have to familiarise yourself - it will be fun.
It isn't quite plug 'n play as with Onkyo HF Player on the iPad/iPhone!
And you have to do some configuring to enable it to play DSD as it of course, cannot play straight through. You have to have DoP-FLAC files - which involves some work (no free lunches).
ps: you can open a support ticket to request the Android Audio pdf (it is a decent size).
