Hi Scott, feel free to edit your 1st post with updated info. I'm looking forward to finding out more :). Cheers!

Edit: my stupidity. I misread and thought McIntosh was releasing a headphone....didn't see the "amp" bit.

Colour me interested!

EDIT: Wee bit more information creeping out now - http://www.monoandstereo.com/2014/01/mcintosh-ces-new-products.html

Price looks to be set at $4500, putting it up into DarkStar pricing territory, but I guess from the looks of the pictures nearly all of that money will be going towards the internals rather than a hefty sum going towards the aesthetics as it is in the case of the DarkStar :)

We were on hand to check it out in person.  That's Michael Mercer lost in the music. :)

Surely you can't just drop that without at least supplying some initial impressions?!?! :)

COULD YOU PLEASE TURN IT DOWN A NOTCH, THANKS!

Sometimes all-caps is entirely appropriate.

(granted I am not sure if this is one of those times, but still, until I've heard it I won't know either way)

I am at the CES too. Will be able to hear it.

Unfortunately all I have is VISO HP50 for making valid comparison...

it seems they are also developing a headphone themselves with a whooping summit-fi price (2K USD) called MHP1000.

It looks pretty cool.  What is it's price?

Looks good but 4500$ ? LOL
I little bit overpriced if you use it only as a headphone amp.
