In the end, even though I really, really wanted to go with the DX90, I've ended up pulling the trigger on an X5 b/c of the larger memory. If the interface doesnt suck too much, I'd like to use 2 128GB cards and have it replace my iPod Classic on the CLAS -R and Continental V3 stack, mainly for my HDTracks music.

I wonder when iBasso will produce the successor of DX100.
Think about it, around the same size/dimensions of DX90 (probably a bit bigger), dual dac, balanced output (HO and LO hirose connectors), 128 gb capacity + dual micro sd card slot or if possible dual normal sd card slot. 24/192 playback (ok some people care about DSD too, so maybe DSD but I honestly don't give a damn about DSD playback), at least 10 hours of battery life. Also if there could be a chance like DX50/90 using a bigger mah battery with silicone cover, it would be the cherry on top of the cake.
For this device, I would happy pay 1k usd without a doubt.

I'm interested in this too, but I don't think it will as the DX50 is not replaced by the DX90 or even in the same league.
It's not going to be the same, both have different implementation so their sound signature are going to be entirely different. You can possess the DX50 and like using it with certain music genres while the DX90 will be for different ones. As per your mood you'll pick up one one day and possibly switch to another the next. That's the beauty of having the two. Not to mention that you'll be cash poor.
Let's be honest about this - there's really not going to be a huge difference in SQ between the X5 and the DX90 - it'll more likely come down to personal taste.
It really p1$$e$ me off that iBasso only implemented one memory slot, so the X5 looks like a better option for me, but.... I will always respect, and remember, how much enjoyment the DX100 gave me, during the time I owned one, and because of that, the pendulum swings the other way, and I find myself thinking maybe, just maybe, I may make an unusual decision and choose to tolerate the single SD slot and go for the DX90 instead of the X5, if the DX90 sounds as good as the DX100. But we don't yet know how the DX90 compares to the DX100. Damn, all this fence-sitting is hurting my backside!
Calyx-M still looks good, but I dislike their attitude as a company and a $1000 bucks is more than double the price of a DX90, and nearly triple that of an X5. But honestly? Really honestly? I will admit that I'd like a Calyx-M plus a DX90
Oh, and a Hugo :blink:
