I'm all for upgrading the battery, but is it really worth going as large as 7200mah in the DX50/90? It will add a lot of weight and then it's almost like having a DX100 in your pocket.

I think it's nice as a spare battery that could be used on a long plane trip for example. You'll be seated and this additional weight and size wouldn't be much of a problem.

But for daily use, I'd use the stock battery (or the 4400mAh), just as I did with my DX50. Just throw it in a pocket.

I would want to see a side view of the 7200mah battery before I buy, looks longer than standard battery and might not fit DX50.

I could be missing something but the ES9018K2M is cheaper than the standard older brother ES9018 though (if I trust this page).

It is, but I think it is still a good deal because it has better specs than a WM8740 at least. You can't realistically expect somebody to come out with a dual ES9018 (desktop) for $420, not right now at least.

I don't disagree. I'm a huge fan of the full ES9018 (as such my former DX100, current HM-901, desktop Invicta, and SACD Oppo BDP-105). I've not heard any iterations of the ES9018-2M though. There're hardly any Conceros here so I wonder how close the ES9018-2M is to the ES9018.

I know I've not expressed much enthusiasm here in this thread but I am secretly quite curious on iBasso's implementation of the 2xES9018-2M in the DX90 here.

I heard the ES9018K2M x 2 will be implemented into the Geek Pulse S and X as well.

If the amp is am improvement over the DX50's, I wiill be very impressed. I felt like the amp of the DX50 was letting it down a bit, but I have no complaints at that price at all.

The dacs in the ak240 are pretty inexpensive.

I can agree with 420usd and would really like to see how the DX90 compares to X5...

Same here, I also hope they fixed this out of the blue volume spike, that's a big turn off for me.

I'm also rooting for iBasso to do a superb job with DX90.  My DX50 was first batch and I'm most certainly signing up for the DX90 as soon as possible as I'm also a big ess9018 fans.

Well yeah, the K2M is a stereo low power DAC in a small package meant for smartphones whereas the 9018 is an 8-channel DAC meant for fancy surround processors/blu ray players.

Specs-wise it's safe to say that neither the 8740 nor the 9018K2M would be a bottleneck.

They will and it will blow people away into musical bliss. :^)
