I have continued to use the Meenova reader for the micro card OTG for some time now and really like the convenience of changing cards using this.

+1!  I like it too.  It's been a great little gadget!

Do you use it for Samsung no sd card gadgets, or as a 2nd card for gadgets that already have one (say, for DX90 or HTC M8)

I got it to try out on the DX50 and have been using it on the DX90 as well.  I use it for times when I am just wanting to listen to a set of tracks  or a particular genre for a short time or am listening to something that is recommended by someone.  I usually keep my baseline library on a microSD on the DX90 and try out the new stuff with the Meenova.
Cheers!

Hey All. Just wanted to share my impressions after the first few weeks of usage. Simply said, DX90 is the fan-tas-tic device for this price and dimensions. With slow rolloff filter there is no audible preringing - impressively clean sound for such a small player. Even 44/16 tracks sound really solid and reveal the fine details (headphones - Beyerdynamic DT990). If compared to iPod Classic, the sound performance is many times, just incomparably, better. Great work, iBasso.

I use the meenova all the time for most cards. I like using the directory and don't need the other features of using the SD micro slot. I just plug whatever card I want to use from certain rock to classical music into the Meenova, go to OTG and get the album I want. I save on scan time and it suits my needs. I emailed Meenova asking if they would come out with a dual reader but they said they had no plans to. Too bad, someone should do this, IMO.

Freaky, I was literally looking at these today.
There was also a recent kickstarter that I missed sadly that is essentially a Meenova, however it has Micro SD, SD and also has pass through for charging apparently.
Not too sure how that would go.
None the less it was interesting.

Only reason I didnt buy the Meenova was CC directly on their website, i tend to prefer paypal.
If you havent had any issues however I might just commit and buy.

It is super cheap :)

It is cheap and I bought 2. They are so easy to use that I would say that besides charging the DX90, one is in all the time.

Hmn I will only need the one as I really just want it for the odd time when I want some obscure stuff I dont listen to much as I currently am hovering around 50gb of music on the dx90, so I dont need to swap in/out regularly.

Only issue I have I guess, is I seem to be charging my dx90 a hell of a lot.
Really need to get onto an extended battery.
I was looking at a few, but some were under voltage and some over (batteries suited for s3) so I was funny about using them.

If they are for the S3, I wouldn't worry about the voltage. Some .2 more or less won't matter.

I use 4200mA most of the time, two Samsungs that I soldered tougher but they have 4400mA batteries for sale. I use that with the silicon case and it hold it in place fine. I have 18 cards so I use the meenova all the time.

Thanks for the heads up, yeah one was 3.7v which didnt bother me as much as the one that was 4.xv

Wowzers 18 cards, I have probably 400gb of hi res files, but only listen to around 50gb of them regularly so those stay on the device.

I have a fair chunk more in 320 mp3 on the dx90, which sound quite nice in a lot of cases, but I am slowely working my way though re-sourcing them in higher quality files, so as this progresses more space will definately be required.  At this point I will buy a 128 and slip the 64 into the Meenova :)

THanks for the feedback :)

The internal charger will charge the battery to the right voltage as long as the cells are for a S3 type of device.

I have a couple of TB's of music. Great fun and adding to it. Gives a lot of choice. Great that you can get the same quality on a hard drive as an disc and take up less than a 1000th of the space for the same number of albums. I have over 3000 cd's in storage that I need to transfer and then will sell them though I won't get much now days but even a couple of dollars will be ok. They are all in like new condition.

Using the Porta Pros with the 90 and excellent sound. Love how far sound has come along in the past couple of years.

Should I even bother pairing the DX90 with my FiiO E12 if I'm just going to be using my IE800's? With the DX50, I think the E12 improved the sound slightly, but with DX90's better AMP, is it even necessary?

what's the advantage of using the meenova [in which you'd have to change the microsd card] over the player's own slot [in which you'd have to change the microsd card]?  one disadvantage of something like a meenova would arise if you wanted to put the player in your pocket.  how do you deal with that situation?

The amp section of the DX90 is excellent. I don't think you need an amp with it.

I put it in my pocket all the time and have never had a problem. I have a card in the dx90 slot and then use the Meenova another one. For me it is convenient and fast. You have to use the directory and it scans the album but once scanned, it doesn't need to scan it again and takes about 3 seconds to scan an entire album. Works for me.
