If you load the page in the Chrome browser it will ask if you would like the page translated. The page referred to is a firmware update info page. The DX90J page is located at http://www.hibino-intersound.co.jp/ibasso_audio/4079.html. Seems that the main difference is higher silver content solder, and
ES9018K2M digital section chips, and in the amp section Texas Instrument OPA1611.

Same as stock except for the solder and possibly some voicing and battery.

Oh yeah definitely we get to have some gathering LOL, you really can't blame those people that is completely don't know about audio stuff especially in DG, to them everything is sound almost the same unless you give them some big speakers to listen. Curious about the E12 but for me the DX90 is more than enough to push the 846 , I think both the IE800 & the 846 have 2 different sound signature but I really like to listen to IE800.

Yeah, I don't use the E12 with the DX90 as its amp is well more than enough for the IE800's.  I believe pairing it with the DX50 did improve the overall SQ by a bit, as IE800 does actually benefit from a stronger amp.

Do you go to downtown DG (dongcheng/nancheng) often or do you mostly stay in the town areas?

I think the 846 is no need any amp for the DX90, tested the HD650 and is well push by the DX90 but for LCD2.2 I think it's still need an amp to get reach it's full potential

Mostly in town, but sometime do travel to Shenzhen City like luohu & futian also travel frequently to HK

is dx90 a good match with UM miracles?

i keep searching but cant find anything, no comparions nothing.

im frustrated with my x3, i wonder if dx90 is alot better and different

I haven't heard the X3 but I was in a similar situation only a few months ago where I was wondering how my Miracles would sound with the DX90 - I'm happy to say that I went ahead and purchased it anyway and I'm very happy. It seems to bring out the Miracles' sound signature. If you like the bright U shaped sound, great! The DX90 adds that airy spaciousness to the Highs. In combination with a nice silver cable I got recently, the bass feels tighter than ever. The DX90 does a great job in bringing the detail of the bass out. I loved my Miracle's bass in that they were very tight but the DX90 just brought that out even more. Basically, to me, the bass just got more perfect.

I'm quite content with the DX90 as a DAP in combination with my Miracles. I haven't yet found them to sound better. Some people say to pair the miracles with a warm-ish player or amp but I happen to love the sound signature of the Miracles the way it was intended.

thats sounds great. i also purchased the dx90 and ill compare it to x3. do you get any harsh trebles with dx90? could you give me a feedback?
its very obvious in requiem mass d minor in flac, in lacrimosa when the female vocals rising up, i cant even bare to listen because treble gets shaky and uncontrolled. silky smooth clear and controlled highs are a must especially in classical music. maybe i can upload the file later and so you can test it and give me feedback?

I'm having some trouble importing songs from itunes to my Mico sd card. The album art are not showing up. And some of my albums are doubling songs. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Mac os x file system creates one hidden file: ._filename for each actual file, which is a link to the real file. if you copied the whole folder from Mac to SD card, the you would have copied these hidden links as well. the dap would read this file and then play it, giving the impression that each file is played twice.

either select and copy files (not folders) from Mac to SD card
or
show hidden files on the SD card and delete all files with pattern ._*

Thanks! I tried show hidden file, there no ._* files. Going give selecting songs a try.

Edit: I found out why I had songs that were doubling. I guess when It was coping albums over to micro sd card, it happened to copy the album into another folders. I went and checked all the folders and deleted the extra one.

Talking about batteries (will report on sound and stuff later on), since my DX90 must be delivering around 6 hours, this is not much, I have been trying some "genuine" S3 battery (from eBay, not the ceapest ones) and it is pretty hard to make sure you are not getting a fake (or am I?). I am testing right now how long they all last including the one supplied with my DX90, branded PISEN.
I just found this interesting article http://mrmobilejuice.blogspot.com/2013/01/good-quality-battery-for-galaxy-s2-s3.html, not sure they are that neutral but they advertise PISEN as "quality battery" so after all, what we are getting from iBasso may turn out to be a good pick?

I am not sure the S3 replacement will improve autonomy, but I am pretty sure DX90 is not the long lasting over 9 hours player we would dream about.
About the rest, sound is there, and I am quite happy I picked the DX90. More later on this.

Wondered if anyone could help. Just got a San disk ultra 128 for use with my glorious dx90! Having spent 4 hours filling it up with music, it's all working well. EXCEPT when I turn on my dx90 it asks me every time to scan the card, which although is much quicker than the original scan, still takes a minute or so. Any suggestions? I am using FW 2.1 international (thanks Lurker!), have the card formatted as exFAT, and have all my music files as flac with accompanying artwork as flac tags and folder.jpg. A factory reset and rescanning the database from scratch has not helped.......Thanks all.
Oh, and thanks Migou for you iem advice.....
