Nice write-up d marc0! You are the hybrid king!!!!
Was the teabag filter subtle to your taste? I love it on my DN1000's, but only find it necessary on certian poorly recorded artists/tracks, so I usually just leave it off. I'm still looking for a more elequent way of applying or removing it. You are right, shallow insertion and wide-bore tips help mitigate it as well, so I might just leave it off and accept the fact that poorly recorded tracks sound harsh. It's not enough that I would trade the beautiful treble of the DN1000's for a darker sound signature to compensate. Any IEM with this much detail is gonna show the track's flaws.
