D marc0's Journal: My Head-fi Journey

Nice write-up d marc0! You are the hybrid king!!!!

Was the teabag filter subtle to your taste? I love it on my DN1000's, but only find it necessary on certian poorly recorded artists/tracks, so I usually just leave it off. I'm still looking for a more elequent way of applying or removing it. You are right, shallow insertion and wide-bore tips help mitigate it as well, so I might just leave it off and accept the fact that poorly recorded tracks sound harsh. It's not enough that I would trade the beautiful treble of the DN1000's for a darker sound signature to compensate. Any IEM with this much detail is gonna show the track's flaws.

T-PEOS H-100j vs H-200 Comparison

CONCLUSION:
As much as I wanted the H-100j to correct the flaws of my beloved H-200, I couldn't really blame it for failing. It is a budget hybrid and we shouldn't expect it to out perform the much pricier and technically advanced T-PEOS H-200.

^ Another sweet write-up, you on FYRE meng!!!

Diggin' your clean style a lot, might have to swagger jack some of it for my next write-up. hoho

Yup, great write-up d marc0! Thoroughly enjoyed it (especially since the H200 crushed it's spine lol). I also like how you insert your "Note" and "Please note" info - you're not leaving out a thing! Nice work.

I totally agree with you there. I now really want to buy new earphones...H200 or DN1k?

I tell you, I still love my H200's - and I'm not even a metal-head lol. That being said, it sounds like the DN1K's might be the ones for you. Ultimately though, d marc0 is the man to set you straight :)

Thank you! I only used foam because I find the teabag filter to reduce the upper treble and it is not good for the H-100j because of the treble roll-off. Some IEMs tho are better with the tea bag filter.

Thanks Wayne! I'm still in the process of figuring out what format works well for me. I'm grateful for everyone's feedback because I believe in constructive criticism.

I don't really push a certain IEM to someone because I prefer just letting them know what to expect from them. The H200 is a great IEM but it does have its flaws... The DN-1000 is technically better and a great all-rounder IMO. I do have a comparison review if you haven't read it yet:

Read through it for a couple of minutes, and I have to say, I'm really impressed with your writing skill. I'm also pretty jealous.

You pretty much nailed the comparison, and now I'm looking forward to buying a new IEM. Still, I need to get an amp before I do any more headphone purchases.

Thanks a lot for your review! It's spectacularly written.

Thanks dmarc0! I might give your foam filter mod a try for fun. Sounds interesting. Thanks for all your work on these reviews!
