London Calling meet impressions

Hi Nadeem - thanks to you and your better half for putting on a very nice show.

Thanks to the other exhibitors who all make a very 'warm and fuzzy' show.

We forgot to say thanks but we would like to thank this guy who brought his 'droid' phone using USB Audio Recorder - which ran direct into our prototype iDSD nano. He was pretty chuffed!

His feedback was invaluable.

Last but not least, Russ Poole is a really decent chap who should to very well. He has got gumption for singing virtuoso to a hall of strangers.

We'll definitely plug his music at shows.

A small write-up with some decent pictures.

Hope you all enjoy it and roll on 2014.

One really nice pic of a vintage Sennheiser 560 Ovation that really piqued our interest as we really like classic gear as well as the latest and greatest. Heck, if they make good tunes, we dont care if it was made this year or yesteryear.

iFi audio Stay updated on iFi audio at their sponsor profile on Head-Fi.

^ that was me. Felt privileged to try the 'mini' iDSD dac, sounded beautiful with my s3 + USB audio recorder pro. Thanks for that.

Also, the I-tube really got my attention. I plan to purchase that as soon as I can find one in the uk! It really adds something to the already great sound of the i-can. Can't believe how many products ifi have come with since the April meet. Looking forward to seeing what you guys conjure up for the next one, see you there!

Cheers

Thanks for highlighting my dads antique Senn 560 ovations he towed along for the day, he will be chuffed it got a mention, they do sound good still for their age and prefer this to the newer Senn can signature they have evloved into today.  Both my Dad & I was impressed with the quality of build and sound quality from these small units and has his sights set on one of these sometime soon in 2014...

p.s.  Thanks also for letting me borrow your 3.5 to 1/4 jack adaptor of a while to listen to some other gear on the day, you guys where Top Gun!

That was me behind you! I always wondered what you looked like Turrican2!

That i-tube did add something as well as warmth without unbalancing all that was already positive about the iFi sound.

Time goes so fast at these meets, your right. The closer we got to the end the more gear I had to listen to!
That open beyer - that's the T1. In my opinion it's a very good headphone for what it is, though I'm not sure on similarities between this and the T1's as I didn't manually compare them. Soon will be able to in more detail though :)

I'm a fan of burn in, having witnessed an effect on the T1's among other headphones. But for changes on this T5p scale - too much for burn in to solve IMO. Headfi seems to be very divided over the T5p's and stuff like this doesn't help. At this moment I don't even know where I stand on them!

Hi Everyone,

I was the guy at the Head-Fi show for beyerdynamic .

A quick round up to what I had at the show was the following:

T1 -Semi Open Back Tesla Driven 600ohm impedance 3m lead (£900 ish)

T90 - Fully Open Back Tesla Driven 250ohm impedance 3m lead (£500 ish)

T5p - Closed back Audiophile grade portable headphone 32ohm impedance and 1.2m lead (Closed back for sound isolation on the move with low impedance for portable players and shorter lead)
(£900 ish)

I also had the A1 amp and NEW A20 amp.

I hope this helps out

Tom.
