Which in the lineup would be best for vocals. Looking for a universal that renders vocals as good as or better than the 334.

Have experience with both and IMO the K10 kicks the 334's butt.

not trying to derail the thread, honest, but i just assumed anything with moving parts in it change their behavior with use.  pivots loosen up, flexes usually stiffen up or eventually bend slightly, rubber stretches, magnets polarize the metals around them, etc.  I have no idea how a BA is actually built so just speculation really.  Anyway mine have been in burn-in for 40 hours already but I won't post my impressions here, I just thought there might be some valuable opinions regarding this for these specific IEMS on here. Here is an alternate maybe parallel question that might have a real answerable in it... how long do BAs usually last and does it depend on the volume of playback?

Don't be afraid to post impressions on burn in, many believe in it. Here is a nice video from Earphone Solutions about BA drivers.

So my Savant arrived yesterday, and have finally had some time to listen to them (even as I type this, in fact
tongue.gif
). I'll try to restrain myself, and just say sometimes I even forget they're on, and just get caught up in whatever I'm listening to. Doesn't help when you have spreadsheets to focus on, but no regrets on the sound quality, that's for sure!

However... this is how they arrived, out of the box:

There's a small-enough-to-not-matter-but-enough-to-trigger-my-OCD scuff right near the connector. It's nothing significant, sure, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't bum me out a little.

Still great earphones, though!

Two things. Check and see if that is glue residue. The glue is a hardy silicone based glue so with some effort it can be buffed off.

Or they may have rubbed together while in transit Either way, I'm bummed as well.
