New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne"
Jan 23, 2014 at 10:19 AM Post #3,046 of 8,377
I wish this forum wouldn't constantly redefine well establish audio terms. Decay is the natural trailing off of sounds via ambiance or added reverb in a recording. A great IEM will allow you to hear it until the next louder sound masks it. A good IEM replicates the waveform with driver movement. No more, no less. Anything beyond that is overhang or overshoot and undesirable. Bass can be about right, overdamped and underdamped. Neither of the last 2 will perfectly reflect the signal.

You got a point.... That's why I was suggesting to halfbakedpotato to keep us posted about his roxanne. Just to be informed; will his Roxanne have the right custom art, no bubbles in the shells, good esthetics...? And also, good sound ?

In a nutshell, was the wait worth it or not ?

I really hope that I will able to upload proof of a perfect set of Roxannes (and equally, perfect case) the day that package from JHA arrives.

at the end of the day, i do hope that the roxies come out awesome

theres no harm to end users if more high caliber products are available, given that the prices are reasonable

Awesome you say? So do I, so do I.

I'm all for other high calibre products also - the more the better. It keeps people on their toes... and pushes innovation... which brings us back to Jerry Harvey keeping ahead of the curve!

Perhaps being the innovator gives you the most headaches?!

This is second ciem from JH audio, I'm very happy with what they produce.  Yes, I'm also waiting for almost 2 month for my CF.  I'm sure Jerry will bring out the best.  I'm 100% with JH audio and I'll be patient and Support!!  In the end, they'll get it right.

2 cents for today.

Hello- first timer, but long time reader. I own the JH13 and bought 3-4 years ago in late '09 or early '10. Not one day goes by that I regret making the purchase then, or waiting for the hiccups that were going on then with “shell bubbles” “long waits” “bad customer service” etc.. I now just ordered and sent in my molds for the Rox. I went non-cf because I personally do not like the way cf looks. I wanted a new iem and I personally went Roxanne because I think in the end, on top of everything else the new flagship offers in sonic qualities, the cable design is a million times better than the old one. The chance of a loose pin in the connector causing the monitor to fall off is very much decreased and to me, this is very helpful. I love the screw on idea. Also- and this is important, I have never had one ill, or one bad dealing with JH customer service or responses, ever, not once. They always return calls, emails, find time to talk, and are easy to get along with. Sometimes patience goes along way. Enjoy your tunes everyone. I’ll let you know how the Rox compares to my old JH13 (pre freq) after I receive them.

I'd be interested for sure in a review or some impressions...
We've reached 200 pages in this thread, and this is getting frustrating.

I would be interested to see the review/impression also

I've been looking forward to some K10 comparison to other iem or cm, e.g. mentor, 1+2, roxanne, but havent come across many yet

no disrespect, but i think when it comes to TOTL earphones, its matter of sound sig preference, in terms of the build quality, i dont see any major company losing out (lets skip the Roxanne cos it was on preorder, and prob end up getting too many orders during black friday). And what u said was unfair to both the K10 users and the ppl who built them

I'm sorry for how I came off. I am kind of going off what my best friend said. He personally has the K10, and they're the most beautiful IEM's I've ever seen. But he heard the Roxanne demos and said they sounded more promising than his own K10 customs and ultimately said that the Roxanne would be the better reference in-ear. I took his advice even though I love the idea of an amber with gold flakes iem...! Going by professional critiques and over all reception, when it comes to SQ, the JH customs almost always has a mention (and the JH13 seems to unanimously be a favorite).

And the best would be a JHA product? Funny people I see in this forum...

For sound quality, and sound quality alone; it's very possible

Ok guy, I just guessing. JH make it time, they had ship my new set 2 days ago, they make it in 5 days . So probably they had sort out the issue for the case at least, perhaps acrylic order member will receive your order soon.

I'm newbie in audio, with my current set, I find it work great with rock but not vocal or classic.
I'm now eyeing on MH334, just need more compare before I pull the trigger. Unless the new set give me the sound I wanted. Got to try different setup as well if might just because it don't work well with my dap and amp.

Anyway, I will got it on Monday, will post the picture.

Edit: just found that my balance port is faulty, SE out from my dap to amp sound phenomenal. Happy now.

Faulty (or more appropriately, not fit for purpose) cables I can kind of sympathise with. They would have been supplied by a supplier who had either assured JHA that they would be fit for purpose, or they were incorrectly specced by JHA. Either way, it's been fixed.

Um, no it has not, not for me yet anyway.  As of two days ago they were working with the vendor to increase the strength and JH was looking into the root cause.  As I said earlier on the impressions thread I have full confidence they will resolve all issues, just need a little patience.

Is this post the "pipe wrench" video Jerry put up? Have you not had one of the second round of cables?

Second cable broke also, I was very careful installing it and it sat next to my couch for a week, went to check it and a nut was loose due to a piece falling off.  They said they are sending me another cable to use while they are getting to the bottom of it.

Oh, and no pipe wrench came anywhere close to my Roxanne's...

That is my point , I know the CUST is upset and I feel for the person. But to send not one but two replacement pairs of wires wow. They really are trying.
