  Fortis, what is that dock?

Currently obsolete in Europe by Sony for a while now but may still be available in USA or Japan or this may revive this model as it was in their promotional video on the Sony Japan site.

There are some on eBay or Amazon but could well pay a premium for it.   It is essentially the model that came after the BCR-NWU 3&5 but those docks will not fit the ZX1.

Hope this helps

Did somebody try ZX1 with Shure SE846? Is it a good pair?

@FortisFlyer75 do you have the AK120 on hand?  Love to hear your thoughts on the sound between the two.

Hi Hifiguy!  I do not own the Ak120 to compare unfortunately, only listened to it briefly at a Head-fi meet in London last October.

I do know a couple on here have sold their AK120 since acquiring the ZX1.

The Sony is very tempting, expecialy for it's nice interface and physical controls,but.... I will not buy a 128Gb version that do not has any expansion capability !  Sony needs to give us a 256 Gb version or add a memory slot !  128 Gb is a Joke today with all those High-Res files.

FortisFlyer - Can you please answer this problem I'm having with the X walkman? When I hold the power button down, it shuts down but turns on again. I did a reset (thinking I changed a setting) but it still happens. Did you ever experience this with the X?

It is strange to a degree with it been designed and promoted as a High res player which does not equate to much more than holding normal wav 16 bit on a equivalent of a 32gb flash. 256 would of been the sensible choice in ratio to the file size of high res even using flac, but Sony are just going in order of natural progression of next step up from the current 64gb they have been offering the last couple of years, which of course does not make it right.  Like any other company on that front they are just milking the cows for what their worth ( us been the silly moo's!)

For me luckily for now with jumping from 32gb and also feel there is not enough high res material out there let alone what is available is not all it is cracked up to be can hopefully get by until the ZX2 in a couple of years when it arrives with the next milking of 256K flash (& still no external SD slot! lol)

Just tried mine and to be honest as I always keep it in standby mode have not manually powered it down properly for donkey's now but just tired it and says shutting down - goodbye but if I press the Home button again it comes on straight away as if it has not done a full power shut down.

Is this is what is happening to you or are you saying it will turns on again on it's own accord?

if I remember rightly when I do not use it for longer than 24 or 48 hours it goes into full shut down so next time it turns on it does a full boot up which takes about seven to ten seconds to be ready to go.
