Love 1.2.6 except for the gapless.  This is the best synergy and sound sig with my Westone 4R since I've had the DX50 (1.2.2). The increased bass is just perfect for the 4R.

Likewise.

I use the W4R (albeit driven by a Meier Quickstep) and although a tiny bit bass heavy, this firmware is a keeper!

PS KHill, the difference between not-amped and amped with the Quickstep is massive. Slam and detail like you wouldn't believe. :)

What URL are you using? None of the variants that I've tried work.

Look at the link Sorensiim has posted on the FAQ page, the first one is the iBasso one, the other is from his box.

Correctomundo! Time to do my famous The answer was in the FAQ all along dance once more!

Yup, no worries about extending the cable! One could argue that a single cable would theoretically be better, but I'd love to see anyone actually hearing a difference...

It is highly unlikely to cause any issue.

A mechanical connection, such as RCA/RCA, XLR/XLR mid-cable typically results in a loss of roughly -3dB signal strength (analog voltage, not any change in digital bit values).  This will make no difference in a short run to an external DAC.

As to the EQ, as I understand it, the critics are not stating the hear no difference.  Rather, they would like the sliders to make a greater relative change than they do.

As currently implemented, the EQ is well suited for minor careful tweaking rather than the massive wholesale changes typical of on-board EQ.

Hi, just one thought regarding perception of DX50 by the audience.

On the one hand, people discuss changes of SQ in different FW, and call those changes "huge", and make decisions either to "move to the next FW" or to "stay with the previous one". On the other hand, the same people claim that the EQ in DX50 doesn't work at all, because they can hardly hear difference between the EQ preset profiles and they don't hear difference when they move EQ sliders up and down.

Am I the only person here who think that's strange?

I actually can't tell any different in audio quality between the firmware versions and think everyone who hears such differences are nuts.  :p

J/k, not to call people names.  But I honestly hear no differences between firmware versions no matter how hard I try, and I keep upgrading and downgrading between them rather frequently.  To me they all sound equally delightful.

To those claiming to hear differences, however, is there any official reports of these changes?  Can we use the line out to record audio samples from each firmware version to study, for actual proof, that some feature more bass / treble than others?  I want to see the visual graphs showing this information.  Firm numbers is more important than what I think I can or cannot hear.  :)

I can hear significant changes when I alter the EQ +- 3.  The EQ works great for me.  But I can't hear any huge or small or any differences at all between firmware versions.

Second day with dx50 and I dropped it already. It sled out of my pocket when i get up from a seat. It went straight down from 1.2meter height. This thing is bloody tough.... just some scratches on the screen protector and the sides. Everything still works. Damn ibasso need to send me that case quick.

Ew.

Speaking of that screen protector, I have been using my DX50 without the one that was included since I borked the thing during application.  Don't know where to get replacements from, seems not cost effective for anyone to order them from China.

My screen still looks like new, however, despite being naked.
