Hi !

I listen to my music in this way: Artist> Album> track
does dx50 have this kind of sorting?

I have few questions from some one in Vancouver (or anywhere in Canada) that already has dx50. is there anybody out there? :D

thanks

How extensive is the EQ on the DX50? I like to increase the sub-bass a little for my bass-light headphones, so on the DX50 can you bump up frequencies 40 and below?

My experience with the 30 hz band is to minimize it to -6. It clears up the sound on everything else.  Maybe boost 180 or 330 hz, but no sense using the 30hz for any type of headphone/earphone. Every single test I've done, minimizing the 30hz band has improved the sound of everything else. Even techno tracks seem to have a bit more thump with it all the way down.

The 30hz band includes those near to it, which means probably 40-80hz. Reducing it will only decrease your sub-bass rumble, which the above user wants to increase.

That's exactly the folder tree that I use for my music......

I have two main folders on my SD card - HD music & Music and then under these I have music listed by artist / album and track. Works perfectly for me.....I am one of the lucky ones who has never had any freezing or crashes in the 2 months I have owned my DX50. I'm running FW 1.2.5 (which I think was the beta version) and as I say no problems or issues whatsoever.

Same here. Got no issues at all.
I have 3folders inside my SD. 320s, Accurip and FLACS. Same listing.

Artist>Album>Disc1/Disc2>Tracks.flac
Artist>Album>Tracks.flac

I understand that is how it should work, but from my experience in tinkering with the thing, messing with that band only muddies up the sound (as opposed to giving tight punch). Even on my Brainwavz B2 (IEM's with "just enough" bass...aka bass light). If he's looking for muddy, mashed-together sound that drowns out the midrange, maybe boosting it will help...But that defeats the purpose of owning such a player, so I am doubting that is what he's looking for.

I was all excited for the 30hz band when the EQ was first shown, but it has turned out to be downright useless in every single firmware update and every single audio configuration I've used it with. On my Cowons, I would always turn down the lowest band (80hz - 105hz, it was variable) a few notches, this one seems to get the best results when it is fully minimized.

Listening to Junior Wells album "Come on in this House" with the DX50 + T1 and Dunu DN1000.  I couldn't be happier.  Between Junior and Buddy, I've got a nice day ahead.

Throw in some Albert Collins for dessert!

Thanks for your input and concern but I've already sent a DX50 in once for refund. The second one sent to me was even more problematic then the first. I've since moved on to the AK120 due to all the card scanning and player lock up problems I was experiencing and what I now want is a refund not an exchange. I'm tired of all the back and forth with iBasso and just want to be free of the problems I've experienced. When I originally asked for the refund I asked if I should pull the battery like I did when I sent in my original unit for refund and they indicated not to bother and send the unit back whole. I now highly doubt that after all that's been said between me and iBasso they ever will agree to refund me. As it is, I've grown quite tired of them and their refund/exchange practices as well as wasting evening after evening trying to troubleshoot a player that refuses to completely scan my card or even run 90 minutes before locking up and forcing me to restart it. I'm now stuck with a 240 dollar paper weight because of all this. Live and learn I guess. Originally I wasn't going to say anything and I've kept an eye on this thread only in order to keep tabs on a new FW update that hopefully will solve my card scanning/player freezing problems. I only voiced my experience so others know what can happen. In hindsight, I should have never bought the DX50. All I'm trying to say with my last post and this post is if you have any troubles with your DX50 don't waste any time trying to troubleshoot it but instead send it back immediately.

Carry on friends, don't mind me and my bad luck. Maybe down the road a future FW update will fix my card scanning and player lock up problems. Crazier things have happened after all.

(goes back to silently watching the party from the far corner)

I also have lost my patience for all the freezing and don't really know what to do about it.  It's a very unstable device.  Makes me want to look the direction of the Fiio x5 and not look back.  The DX50 is rather frustrating.  I'm thinking I probably should have skipped it and tried the Fiio x3 instead.  It's more widely known, probably would be more stable...

Yeah love it or hate it. Either way the experience is extreme.

dx50 is nice soundigng DAP put down by FW issues, so if iBasso is fast to solve them then i am sure dx50 will find many lovers for the price.
perhaps people had too high expectations for this new iBasso toy after dx100.

however i agree, dx50 is niche DAP and will be unable to unseat top competition. however i heard not so good resposnses about x3 having issues with mp3 lists and sounding dark and unclear.

Uhoh.

Damn. Too fast fingers again. Totally wrong thread:D

Carry on:D

On a side note, still rocking on without crashes on anything similar. One overly long scan on restart but I just stopped it, so no worries there.
