I got an email of April 1, then it was updated to somewhere around the 19th of this month and then I got an email that it had shipped. I guess they needed some cash flow. :^)

It's recommended to max the volume in DX50 when connected to an external via LO. At max volume DX50 is always sending the maximum dynamic range of the music and the best Signal to noise ratio to the external amp. Meaning you always get the maximum fidelity of the music DX50 can produce.

I found that doing that might limit the power output of the amplifier, which actually affects the SQ. Depends on the amp though... But i usually set it between 220 and 255, if the amp gives me enough range so i can raise the level on the amp enough to listening levels. But like i said, depends on the amp.

I don't think it limits the power output of your amp. I guess you are talking about gain matching. As your source output voltage goes up (increasing volume) the effective gain without clipping the output signal in your amp goes down.

The max power will still be the same. It just limits the range on the amp's volume pot.

I don't convert to WAV and they work fine. I am not sure why there are differences with some but for whatever reason, I have no issues.

Try it with a relatively quiet 24/192 track. Ibasso were able to re-create the issue using one of the quieter tracks from the 24/192 soundtrack to The Dark Knight Rises - but only when placing the file on the microSD. The same file plays flawlessly on my computers and the DX100 handled it just fine as well. I just downsample to 24/96 and enjoy but I'll be loading the DX90 with 24/192 once it's out, just to see how it handles those files.

  as i know - DX50 supports only FAT32.

in DX50 volume controlled almost at the analog level, using the built-in DAC mechanism, so there's volume in LO mode rather depends on the sensitivity of your amplifier - Experiment =)

The DX50 supports exFAT, the latest revision of the FAT filesystem and the native filesystem of (micro)SDXC cards.

I've had a DX50 for about 2 weeks - it's really good.  But I tried the iBasso web-site today to check latest firmware and the web-site appears to be gone.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Did they forget to pay their subscription?

when I tried exfat on firmware 1.2.7 - player did not take the stick, it worked when I formatted to fat32

They're back up.  They've had problems with their domain provider in the past.  Should be good to go for a while now.

You then just have to control volume on the amp. I tried both FAT32 and exFAT, both sure work just fine.

I think that you're right.
Where can I find more discussion on this very important topic.

Is there a American retailer that sells these pups? I don't want to import to avoid any duty fees.
