Anyone else tried the UE900s out if the DX50? I was going to give the UE900s away to a mate they annoyed me so bad. Since using it with the DX50 I find this synergy to be so so good. I want to know if it's just me

The case appears to have no opening for the line out....

Finally got hold of my Quickstep :) Initial impression out of the box when compared to Tralucent T1 - almost the same sound coming out through my ER4PS except that the Quickstep has slightly tight, punchier bass and lovely sub-bass. Mids and highs on both are similar IMHO. Will burn-in and hope to be surprised. :)

If the synergy sounds good to you does it matter what anybody else thinks? Your ears the the best thing to tell you if you are happy with the sound.

I wonder how many people fall into the trap of selling gear that they think sounds good just because other people think it sounds terrible.

Not having a go by the way, just an observation

Good advice.

I just received my DX-50 from iBasso after sending it back because of a stuck volume button. Just wanted to quickly commend them on their customer service!! When I got it back I upgraded to V 1.2.2 which went smoothly. The problem that im having now which didn't seem to happen on V 1.2.0 is that in some seemingly random albums the DX-50 is copying the songs again and again so that I have 100 or so in an album rather than 10 and when I select a song to plays something completely different to what is on the screen. If I go into the SD directory the affected albums look fine (no copied songs) but when I go to play a song it is choppy and garbled.

Has anyone experienced this / know a workaround???

Just want this thing to work!!

Next up: figuring out how to beat ffmpeg into using ReplayGain data, and seeing if I can get the Android version of Rockbox installed and running through the Android debugger.

No luck with ADB. Can't tell if it's the device or the stock debugger. Rockchip's SoCs are a pain.

OTOH, the latest ffmpeg has a modified volume filter that can take a +/- dB adjustment. metaflac to read RG album gain tag data, ffmpeg to transcode. Good enough until iBasso implements ReplayGain -- if they ever do.

  Anyway I've a question:
if I want see the cover of the albums on the DX50, is sufficient to put the jpeg file renamed "cover" in the same directory of the flac files?
I do this with foobar and it works.

Use Mp3Tag for "embedding" the artwork within the file tags.

Please note, since the artwork visible on DX50 is very small, you better reduce the size of the album covers...to (say) 400 X 400 or even less! Otherwise, it appears grainy.

I found this out the hard way all my artwork is like 1500x1500
