I have been using the line out too b/c my headphone jack is busted.  Line out works but no eq or gain.

Have you contacted the seller to have this repaired?

My screen has a small chip *right* in the middle
and contacted iBasso about it.

They were very helpful and offered to repair for a reasonable fee,
if I shipped it to them in GuangDong, China...

I decided to live with the chip.

I actually used to do this all the time with no problems; the end result is that there is no static or hiss in the background.

The downside to it however is that with most earphones, you will hear distortion may not like the sound of it. The distortion can prove to be "coloring" in a positive way for some earphones, but for others, it's best to avoid heavily distorting your sound output in such a way.

I find that with my GR07's through line out I can hear significantly much more sibilance, but with my Fidue A83, I actually can't even tell the difference. YMMV.

Thanks. The headphone jack of my DX50 was not welded properly, a solder joint was missing (not good, iBasso). I have solved the problem by soldering myself (don't want to pay shipping + fees for such a simple task).

Guys, excuse me for my ignorance, but i'm a total noob :) Someone could explain to me how to use DX50 as DAC Usb for PC? I'd like to improve earphone sound and power when i use the PC, which is very very poor with the integrated audio card. How do i have to proceed? I have Windows PC with win7.

first you need download and install lastest dx50 dac driver
            http://www.ibasso.com/download.php

turn on your dx50 and then change usb setting from storage into DAC after that connect your dx50 to pc using usb cable

I didn't think it was possible for DOC to release new FW, but apparently he just did LOL:
http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=ru&to=en&a=http%3A%2F%2Fplayer.ru%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D139417%26p%3D1737321%26viewfull%3D1%23post1737321

Update: I like this one a lot. Haven't compare it with 1.3.3, but directly against the Aune T1 with 7308 tube (both pair with my Rendition 1 amp), both is pretty neck to neck, with the T1 having slightly smoother vocal and better instrument seperation. Still I'm impressed with this FW overall :) (and it is based on 1.9.3 so Linux and Mac user can rejoice :) )

are you talking about: Dx50 TRUE SOUND BY DOC2008?

This is based off V2.3.0 DX90 firmware (shows D50 firmware 1.9.2 on system info).

from Doc's thread:

-cooked a killer DX50_Lovely_Noise_04 (joke)
-ported by me based firmware DX90 standard V 2.3.0
-everything but the equalizer. reads all formats as Stoke

P.s. Thanks HardcoreMeloman for work on an all-out cleaning rubbish from Android-the same cleansing arranged and in its firmware. Also spioneril of its firmware modified fonts.

DOWNLOAD (this is the direct Yandex link)

There is a version 2 of this with slightly more warmth (which I am currently testing (on modded D50) update: back on Version One for now:

Dx50 TRUE SOUND V2 BY DOC2008

-same as V1, but with a slight bias in warmth

DOWNLOAD

cheers

Just got a go with the True Sound V1 with 1.3.3, they seems strikingly similar, which is a pretty good thing. I have always wanted a 1.9.3 SU lol. (not to mention it plays all format, which is great!). Unfortunately the True Sound V1 font, as good as it looks, don't goes quite well with my language (characters like ấ ế ổ don't display properly) so I will be keeping SU for now. If DOC can release a FW with font change I will be a very happy man :) Or maybe can someone point me to a FW editor tutorial? I can't even open the damn FW file lol.

I really want to try True Sound V2. I only have time to change my firmware once before I go out of town for a few days and I will be stuck with whatever I have. Should I go for it?

Why not, how bad could it be? Besides the stock fw I've only used SU 1.3.3 and now True Sound and I'd be happy being stuck with either one of the 2. Especially if it was only for a short while.

I dunno. I was stuck in a similar situation with stock 1.9.2 or something and I found the sound to be really boring for some reason. DOCs firmware usually doesn't disappoint though!

When I get to town, then will try out those two "true Sound" firmwares and share my impressions against SU 1.3.3 (on hardware modded DX50)

Updated the true sound v2 from Doc2008, it improves the DX sound quite a lot, bring in the warmth that I have been looking for, so thanks Doc2008 for the great port. Just one thing though, this is not based off the DX90 v2.3.0, but rather the old 1.9.2?

I installed it on my DX50 this morning, quite a serious bug in it. When I play a track then try to skip to another, the DX50 restarts itself and goes back to the song that was playing just before I did the firmware install. Anyone else having this issue ? I've re-install 1.9.3
