He said from Japan, he has many stock, but he never use Panasonic

I wonder why never use Panasonic FC? They are very well regarded in sound equipment and have good specs and quite similar sound to silmicII`s in certain applications.
Well, I tested many caps and found FC best for my taste and ears. Would like to try some BG`s some day but they are pretty impossible to get in correct value and size in EU.

Actually I don`t bother. I spent pretty much time comparing many good quality caps and top 3 of them sounded quite similar with small differences. I doubt BG caps can make so much better difference. But if I happen to come across with BG`s will try.

@cami , I recommend You to try NDFFF (not surround edition which isn`t so good imho) and definitely give a try to Sound Unlocked 1.3.3 with FLAC/ IIR off/ CPU default settings.

Ok I will. Thanks for the suggestion !
Is there a reason why it is SU 1.3.3 that is always recommended  throughout the forums and not the latest which is 1.4  ?

I have only tried Rockbox and the stock firmware.  I can understand subtle changes, but I really can't see the congestion and lack of sub bass.

Yes I get that you can't understand it. Had I been the one reading such a user experience a few days back and I would have thought "it's all in the guy's head".

Of course my experience is in comparison with my usual setup and my impressions of congestion, etc. refers to what I'm used too on my setup and with particular test tracks I know well. I maintain, total lack of impact on drums, audible roll-off in the subs. Now maybe it's just not fair to compare a small DAP with an Asgard 2 in the first place. Not that it's a TOTL amp, but at least it has ample room for big caps and a powerful power supply.

I keep listening to the DX50, and in all honesty that firmware change did a lot. I did a few "fast cable switching" (not very scientific I know) comparisons yesterday night and not only does it sound more dynamic than with the stock fw, but... somehow more dynamic than with coax out through my home dac and Asgard 2. It's a bit less warm and a bit sharper, more detailed even, which probably helps giving the impression of dynamics. It's a slightly different sound than my usual setup but it's only a matter of taste now and at least it sounds objectively good and not flawed, unlike the stock fw was imho

@caml Really want to hear your opinion about Doc2008 VS SU 1.3.3 which one do you like better?

Sure I'll get back to you guys after I try it in the next couple of days

No particular reason and 1.4 also sounds very good but for me it has littlebit narrower soundstage and not so good imaging as 1.3.3 @ FLAC/IIR off/CPU default. I know I`ve been hyping this FW lot but it deserves it and many have agreed with my opinion so far.
Of course it`s all subjective opinion but try it out and if it isn`t Your taste then try NDFFF

Have You tried RKBatchTool? Go to PC with windows and use it. I think there hasn`t been case where RKBT can`t save DX50.

Shouldn't be a problem.  It is just a flash drive with two connectors.  They are designed exactly for this purpose (and photos and videos) from portable devices.  As long as you have it formatted exfat or fat32 I believe.

Actually it might be a problem! I have used 2 different readers like this and both didn`t work properly: http://www.head-fi.org/t/679473/the-ibasso-dx50-thread-latest-firmware-1-9-2/16935#post_11573602

Interesting.  I have generally steered away from these type due to the potential issue of damaging the connector on the dx50 (and my phone).  I guess if it goes flush then it wouldn't be an issue but with the case on....
Hopefully someone has tried the sandisk ones that dragonsan16 put in their post and can enlighten us.  I have had microsd cards not work in my dx50 - so maybe a compatibility issue with the brand?

I know DX50 can expand storage by using usb otg cable, microsd card reader and sd to microsd adapter, but i wonder does DX50 work with this dual usb drive?

I actually do own that exact Sandisk USB drive, 32 GB version, works like a charm without reformating or even removing all my other documents that are on it. Just put a couple music files on it for trial and the DX50 read them without problem.

EDIT : after double checking, mine is actually the "Sandisk Ultra Dual 3.0", whereas the one pictured above is the "Sandisk Ultra Drive". Both look very similar and one is the newer model in the same series (USB 3 vs. USB 2). Like I said, the Sandisk Ultra Dual 3.0 works 100%.
