The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

I had a problem with mine this morning :/ It was stuck at the bootscreen. I have tried a hard reboot, took the battery out and back in, tried to reboot from the Recovery mode but nothing :/

I had to reset to factory through the Recovery mode and then it booted normally but I lost all the music in the internal memory...

Is it a known problem ?

I think I had this problem or it could have been that my DX 50 fail to boot because low battery anyway u can avoid this by putting all your music externally, that's how I do it.

Yep, of course, but I have just 2-3GB which don't fit in the SD card :D I don't want to go from a 64GB to a 128GB SD card just for this ^^

For information, on the internal memory I have only APE, WAV and DSD files, FLAC, MP3 and OGG files are on the memory card (yes, I'm pretty well organized :D )

I have maybe 1 GB of space left on my 64 gb card, however am upgrading to a 128 gb card for as my collection grows, which it does.  I'm tired of being maxed out on space, will be nice having room to grow into for once :)

Our needs expand to fill available space. You probably won't have room to grow for too long. I filled up 128GB in no time so I added a 1TB hard drive via an OTG cable. I have to provide external power for the drive so there goes portability. It never ends.

Very easy to have USB attached to the Ibasso DX50 with a cable. A little more battery drain but works well. I can also attached my portable 2 TB Drive of Grateful Dead! Rock on!

This setup is why I'm considering buying a DX50 even though the X5 and DX90 are debuting now.  If the firmware bugs I'm reading about here are all worked out, having a 256GB USB stick will let me have my whole collection on a single portable volume for the first time since my old DMC Xclef HD500 died years ago -- I had installed a 200GB 2.5" hard drive, and it worked great, though it weighed a ton.

They were top of the tree in their day. And listening to a live recording isn't a bad way to get to know them as you generally get a best of selection, together with the latest album that they had produced at the time.

Back to the bootlegs, anything under 4stars for sound quality is for completists only. Soundboard is generally better than audience and some of them sound fantastic on the Dx50.

So far my new DX50 is behaving exactly as it should.  Using folders I've had no issues with freezes.  Controls work great, and sound is nigh-on perfect.

If I may humbly offer my own suggestion - Sigur Rós Top Ten Bootlegs - most are Sound board and Re-mastered by myself. Some of them sound sublime, just like commercial releases!
