The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

I just loaded the new 1.2.5 FW. So far the SQ is nothing like the 1.2.3b that I remember on JH16. It appears the 1.2.5 is a tad more extended in the highs. The bass dropped a little in intensity but became much tigther. The mids pretty much the same as 1.2.2.

Looks like I'm going to stick with it

I think you are right, after listening to a few songs, somehow the highs are back again and the bass is there but not as pronounced as the 1.2.3beta version however still more than 1.2.2. It looks as if it has been adjusted to please both camps. :)

Just updated to 1.2.5 about an hour ago, haven't had any issues at all.  The sound is brilliant.  I seem to be doing a good job at putting these things through the freeze tests, as I've had it freeze doing almost anything at some point in time.  Will see how this week goes with regular use.

The sd card scan worked fine, though that has worked fine for a while now.  It didn't go into an ugly reboot loop like the 1.2.3b did shortly after the scan.

The sound of 1.2.5 sounds beautiful, I hope it does not change past this.  Haven't heard anything so smooth sounding in the frequency response before, every frequency comes across so crisp and detailed.  Highs are not piercing, bass is extremely tight and refined, feeling the details in the vibrating strings of a cello on my ears. I listen to a bunch of orchestral music.

Updated mine too.
Worked perfectly as always! (Golden DX50 ftw)

Surprise surprise, the German translation is only 30% broken!

Downloading 1.2.5 now but dumb me forgot to buy a 3.5mm to 3.5mm for my Glacier until later so I can't listen to the combo until it arrives

Exact Audio Copy is what me and my father use, if that helps. However, you don't need 24bit for CDs, 16bit will be enough.

Aw man, just had firmware 1.2.5 freeze for the first time.  Again this happened after I paused a track for about a minute, then it freezes a split second after unpausing.  What is this weird glitch.  Does anyone else regular pause / unpause for the sake of talking to a coworker for a minute?

I never encountered any freeze even at 1.2.2. when pausing / unpausing. My only problem with pausing/ unpausing even at the latest FW is the occasional misfires or the button does not respond at all. It becomes annoying sometimes considering the already delayed response of the buttons when pressed.

Hmm.  I wasn't encountering freezing while unpausing in 1.2.2.  This only became an issue for me with the 1.2.3b, and now also, 1.2.5.  No idea.  If I leave it alone, as it, not pausing it seems to be fine.  I have just sent iBasso a support email about it.
