I'm seriously looking into modding my PB2 into 4-pin mini-xlr. I'm picking up Hirose connectors tomorrow, but I'm seriously sick of using something so hard to get.

That'd be good for me also. I've got some cables already terminated to 4-pin mini-xlr. I might ask you for some tips and lessons learnt in the process

To hell with it, parts have been ordered. Somebody had to take one for the team and figure out how to end this Hirose reign of horror.

If you make an adapter for Hirose to mini-xlr you should be sorted

I'm pretty sure I can mod the PB2 from Hirose to mini-xlr, thus negating the need for adapters or costly hard-to-get connectors.

I have gone from Hirose to the connector on the RSA amps using just two positive and two negative and all works fine. I have all types of IC's going from standard balanced connectors to Hirose, the 4 pin Ray uses, and other. I have a special case just for all the IC and adapters but I don't like multiple connectors so I make IC's with the ends I like and get the cleanest path possible for whatever dac, dap, amp and so on.

I have a question that I'm sure one of you super clever chaps will help with.

Finding mains powered external HD's is becoming more and more tricky, so can a solution to the OTG HD issue be thus....

A HD that is powered from USB via a laptop, using a second USB on the HD (either standard or micro) to feed the DX50 music?

And if so, can anyone recommend one? (Or a decent mains powered 1 TB drive?)

Thanks.
