Can confirm this unit sounds amazing, this unit sounds more alive and clear with better detail, there is no veil at all sound is super bright prone to zero sibilance and very very natural

The nozzle seems bigger and the inside shell is not transparent also

Omg.. give me a break. My wallet can't take it anymore...

Btw, started looking for upgrades from the FA-4E Xb... slightly enhanced sub-bass, slightly warm but clear and a significant step up from the FA's. Oh btw, universal fit. I don't want to fiddle with impressions. Cost is not an issue, I'll save if I have to.

I understand that this is contradictory. I feel like two different persons sometimes..

Oh. I'd like to wear over ear and have real replacable cables. Or at least have over ear wearable.. but I'll try not to hijack this thread too much. Albeit I think some want to know what a good step up from the FA-4E Xb is.

I've considered:
Shure Se846
Roxanne universal
Tralucent 1plus2
Noble 6

(I think Tg334 might be too dark)

Does anybody else have any suggestion as to what can be a good upgrade from the FA-4E?

I tried the Audio Technica IM03s the last time I was in Japan and they have a slight v-shaped signature like the FAs. I'm not sure if they are an upgrade though, as I didn't spend enough time with them. I would suggest the UM Miracles, but you said you didn't want to go down the custom route.

So want to hear the improvements honestly wouldn't have sold them if the mids could have been a tad more forward and clearer :frowning2:. Loved everything else about them such a shame. Oh
MoonYeol have you looked into the ASG 2.5 maybe an upgrade cable to boot ? I've been looking into The Dita (Truth Edition) sounds like a beautiful balanced iem that doesn't do anything wrong.

I already have the ASG-2 and at least used to have a good cable. Will have to get another one. I doubt that 2.5 will be THAT much better than the 2 since I find FA-4E better for my sound preference. But I might buy the ASG-2.5 later anyway.

The Dita (Truth) seems interesting but I'm a bit turned off by non-replaceable cables.

I wouldn't consider any of these an upgrade to the FA-4, honestly. I haven't personally heard the SE846 or Rox, but ears I trust have told me that they don't live up to the ears.

I'm going to explain it again my right phone died past week sent them for warranty replacement and when i received these new unit I instantly felt it sounded clearly better so I asked Jochen if my old unit was damaged and he told me the thing of the crossover...nothing more

My unit was very old from past july and I don't know when they made this crossover upgrade

But this unit sounds like an upgraded fa 4e xb yes, stage is wider an deeper also...sounds is simply amazing very fresh and lively stage is very wide guys been using the ex1000 this past week and don't feel the stage is narrow in the fa 4e, sound is super bright in a good way
