Asg2 does well with brightly mastered music.

Yes, that is exactly what I've found. On well-recorded music the highs, and low-treble energy take a backseat for me.

Just did one last comparison:

ASG-1 vs ASG-2. Not really worth going in to detail. The two earphones are not even close enough to the same quality/level to talk about it. Everything is better about the G-2. It a step or two above the G-1. No contest, no comparison. Talk about muddy? G-1 is muddy by comparison.

Nice work was done in the upgrade from G-1 to 2. Nice work indeed.

P.s. I think comparisons of the 1plus2 to the 009 might be a little premature! :P :P :P
Just teasing!

Just got back from the Dallas meet. The SR009 makes the everything I've heard, including the HD800, sound just...plain.

Yep... doesn't that just suck. Why do they have to cost so much? But maybe deservedly so

They are nothing short of phenomenal and marvelous. It makes everything else sound... plain.

I've already decided not to make any more real gear purchases until I can afford them. Asgard 2 (or 1), then I'm done.

I'm still kind of kicking myself for not bringing the ASG-2 there, but not as much as before actually getting there. It didn't really seem like an IEM-type crowd.

Finally ordered my ASG-2 today! Looking forward to joining the quickly expanding ranks of the Aurisonics Army ;)

I'm kind of relieved that your last sentence didn't end with family lol.
Looking forward to impressions!

I tried that. It did not work. Good luck. Maybe you will have more self control than I do.

The thing is that the meet showed me how much of a circle this hobby is. Nothing else in there really made me say.."ok, I need this in my life." As far as personal audio goes, I'm pretty set for the foreseeable future...unless Vsonic finally releases that phantom planar IEM.

The SR-009 just puts an end goal to the hobby for me. My means of escaping the Matrix. I plan on getting it a few years from now and just giving the audio world my middle finger.

Nah, I plan to live in downtown Dallas for a few years, which means shoebox apartment. No speakers there lol.

In other news, my ASG-2 is on its way to cn11 now, who also owns a TG334. He'll give his own impressions of the 334 vs G2, and I'll add his and SF's to their respective places in the OP.

Excellent!

And that's great he has a 334! I did not know, it'll be interesting to see what he hears.

I've heard that many-a-times...The audio world will rip off your hand and finger your ass sooner than you think! It's the safest and deadliest hobby both at the same time.

I tried that route, got tired of it.  I was never into headphones/iem because they are such tiny little insignificant things.  But then I started liking them because of their portability, and to me they sound so much better simply because there are fewer details to be lost within the 1-2 inches that it takes to get to my eardrums.  I do miss the hands-free CPR type bass that comes from large subs though.
