Having never heard an Aurisonics IEM before, I'm hoping I can stumble across a way to audition the ASG-2. The $700-$800 price (w/out upgrade for peeps like me) is hitting that price point between what many are calling the mid-tier & TOTL these days.. I appreciate all the impressions provided here, especially by OP. Gonna keep an eye on these as development seems to be continuing & aren't even available through their website yet. I've ordered pre-production units from other vendors before & I'm not gonna put myself through that aggravation again, my love for the hobby isn't as all-consuming as it is for many here (this is NOT meant as a slight in any way).

I think the price for the G-2 sans upgrade is $500 no? Just paid for my G-2 upgrade last night. Hope it's not too much longer now

I think he might be confusing the AS2 $800 price tag with ASG2's $550. I know I did, lol.

The ASG-2 is $500 for frosted and $650 for stealth. As for this being a pre-production model, that these are not. They are transitioning to a new site. There is no sense adding a new product when you'll be upgrading to a new site and you'll just have to switch everything over anyway. They'll continue modding and improving the sound, but I'm sure those mods will be made available or as upgrade options, which is much better than other companies.

I'm pretty sure I'm not crazy and the Facebook post says that the retail price of the frosted is $550... probably because the bass port is standard now?

Could you say a little more about the congested quality you hear with the asg-2? Where is it the the frequency response?
P.s. I think comparisons of the 1plus2 to the 009 might be a little premature!

It's my opinion that the soundstage and imaging is a tad smaller and more intimate than the 1p2. Combine that with the richly colored mids that are very forward, and all the texture in detail being thrown at you, it gets a little congested. It doesn't sound like it has the room to breath as much as the 1p2. Doesn't sound as spacious, roomy, organic. I think its the mids and highs that sound most stuffy on G-2.
Have you heard both?
Edit: and to be clear, the 1p2 is not a 009, in any way. I was just answering the one gentleman that wanted to know how the sonic signature compared. And my (SP/009) analogy was to demonstrate the discernable level of difference to me. : )

I do hear a 5khz spike which gives a little sibilance at mid-high volumes with certain tracks and gets fatiguing with the 1plus2. Also, the slightly bloomy midbass of the dynamic (which is quite good) gives the impression of a gap in the lower mids sometimes although with something like a solo cello which doesn't push the dynamic, then this effect lessens. I agree that the aSG-2 sounds very lush and full-sounding, so I can hear what you are describing as congested.

Yes I was just curious what people think about the sonic signature off totl iems compared to totl cans. In my experience high end cans tend to sound more neutral than their iem counterparts.
