VSonic VSD1/VSD1S Reviews/Impression Thread

I actually would have liked if the notes remained slightly more thick after burn-in, but hey it has more finesse with a leaner and meaner sound.

+1 Today I was comparing the LE to the VSD1S and after all the burn-in the LE has lost not only some of its fullness but the note thickness too. I have to admit I kinda miss that thickness. Now it's more like a very slightly cleaner VSD1S with a bit better separation and more focused sound but overall not such a big difference. Anyway, that VSD1 collection really trained my analytical hearing with all the auditioning and comparisons of so similar iems and also gave me a lot better idea of the sound I'm after, so overall I gained invaluable experience by getting all 3 of them.

I have yet to do some serious ab'ing with my VSD1's and LE's. I guess I'll find out when I do. Part of the problem for me is that I mainly use my VSD1's with my Clip Zip, but I've been listening to the LE's mainly from my C3/BH combo, so the LE's have had that advantage from the get go.

Either way, I'm very happy with the VSD1's and variants. Their size, lightness, form factor, adjustable nozzle and SQ make them highly prized to me. The cable thinness concerns me at times a bit, but I have abused my VSD1's pretty good and they are holding up, so it's probably not a concern.

Great job btw.

Was listening to my gr07 BEs a couple of days back, and there was more lushness/ sparkle and texture compared to these VSD1 LEs, so i am happy to say that they both are great in their own ways and does not make one obsolete/ redundant whatsoever despite both have that classic VSonic house sound. They still differ in presentation, so i would put them both on the same level for what they each do best.

Yeppp i just said, these LEs are on par with my gr07 BEs BUT does NOT best them.

I'm actually using my VSD1s more than my GR07be. The more they burn in the more I like them. I have said it many times here I will say it again the VSD1s and the Ibasso DX50 are made for each other, I have not heard a better pairing yet. I think I'm going to buy 1 more for a back up just in case. There is one think I do not like on the VSD1s and that is no neck tie ring thingamabob to tighten it.

I'll agree with that. Although I have been enjoying the LE's more than I ever did the BE's, I realize that with the BE's I wasn't getting the proper insertion depth and proper seal, so I therefore wasn't appreciating them enough.

It's still pretty cool that the LE's are on par with the BE's for half the price. Looking forward to Vsonic's future offerings, that's for sure!

^ Welp it is not like they are thin sounding by any means, it is that the notes have slightly less weight now as compared to before but this makes them sound quicker. These still pack a lethal punch meng so no worries there.

BUT if these had the same texture and sparkle as the gr07 BEs HOLY CRAP!!! VSD7s ANYONE!!!  O.O

WEll, honestly I didn't particularly like the VSD1s with the C3/BH combo as much as the C3/E11 combo but I rarely do anyway aside from the s500, which is at its best with the C3/BH. I don't want to ruin anything for you, so you compare them and decide for yourself, which one you prefer. As I said the LE is a bit better in some regards but it's not a big difference.

Nah, I was beyond your level from the get-go and now I'm on a completely different level that you'll never reach. In fact, if you had a scouter you'll be like

And I definitely won't be buying the VSD7s

I must admit that I have become a bit of a C3/BH combo lover, but since I have an E11 lying around feeling neglected, I suppose I should maybe try it out with the C3 huh?

Well, I don't know. I'm kinda thinking I should stop scattering my money. I think I should just get the VSD9. That is if I even get the chance to buy one with that super limited production of only 120 units a year. Now, that's the real hype material. Imagine if Vsonic are selling the VSD1 for 40 bucks and the being discontinued gr07mk2/be for 130, then what kind of performance we can expect from an iem they'll have the nerve to sell for 600. The VSD9 with its diaphragms they've changed a whole bunch of times and finally stopped at such a rare and hard to obtain material that they are not disclosing its origin but it's most likely out of this world - literally.

Nah, empty cardboard boxes aren't that hard to obtain. Even the homeless people have lots of them. Here we're talking about so super rare stuff that vsonic's ceo said that they can't possible produce more than 120 units even if they wanted to coz it's so hard to get. Something so expensive and so high performing they are going to sell the VSD9 for more than 3 times the price of their other flagship. I don't know - I'm just kinda interested in that VSD9.
