Just checked my rwak120-b. Hardly any play in the on/off button and no noise.

May be worth dropping an email to vinnie at red wine. He must have had the guys out if many AKs sand might have some experience of this.

Obviously he is not affiliated with astell and kern but just figured he may be able to alleviate your fears if he sees this problem often.

I don't think mine has problem with it. I tried to shake my device but didn't hear any noise.

  Hello to everyone,

I need help :

I have purchased an AK120 with B&H (USA) and it has been delivered to me out of USA.
at the moment i receive the device, i found that the power (ON/OFF) button was moving and making noise, i could heard noise when i shake the unit with my hands.
@ months after, i realized that it was not normal. then contacted B&H about the problem. B&H confirm me that my unit has a problem. i had 30 days to send back, but now it is too late, after 1 month, they would not accept to change my unit. they recommend me to contact Iriver. what i did :
Please see bellow the reply of Jonathan from Iriver USA.

Dear iriver customer,

Thank you for providing us with all of the requested information including the picture of your unit. Please keep in mind that it is normal to have the ON/OFF button to have some play when you shake the unit. It is normal to hear that sound of the button moving. All of the units are designed that way and so rest assured, there is nothing wrong with your specific unit. If you have any questions or concerns please email us back at any time.

Thanks & Regards,

I replied him that i could not accept such problem for the hight price i paid to get the unit. I should receive a strong and good unit.
then he recognize that there is a problem on my unit, and that i had to return it and get it repaired.
I told him that i did not want my new device to be opened and repaired after only 2 months of use.
And that, as he told me that all unit has the same issue, and that it is normal, i did not want anymore the AK120.
I was ready to add money and get one the unit which has not the button problem : AK120 TITAN.
If not at least , they should give me a NEW AK120.
I refuse the issue of 30 days because : How could i imagine that it is not normal and return it within the 30 days ? while Jonathan the specialist of Iriver who knows more their materials replied me that that issue is normal.

Now i'm coming here to request for help : Iriver don't want to help me, and B&H (the supplier) has also refuse to change my unit.
Where can i complain against Iriver and B&H ?
Could someone help me ?
I'm not in USA, and far from there.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Samuel

I forgotten it was use dome switch or carbon pill for the switch activation, if it were dome switch i think it can be easy fix by adding a tape to hold the button, if carbon pill that would be more difficult as the back of the button cannot be covered. But i don't think it affect anything?

My 120 has no looseness (or noise) whatsoever from the power button or side buttons.  If anything they are rather stiff and the total travel of the buttons are no more than 0.5mm ever.

I'm happy to report that the AK120 works great with 448GB of storage. Internal=64GB, SD1=128GB + SD2=256GB. The library Scan took about an hour. The SD>MicroSD adapters are proving to be as reliable as internal storage.

@ Sam or anyone else really...
how do you make on-the-go playlists with the ak120?  I've never really cared about it, but I'm thinkn about doing something similar to Sam's setup and if I do, I'll want to be able to manage my music on the device.

Thanks in advance,
Chris
