May be a decent seller, but probably not a legitimate FiiO dealer, probably gray market...

so what now if we both wana buy it? :/ there is a chance that this is fake or something? the seller isn't this new, look what else was he selling all the time.

what will make we wait is the fact that i will need a DAP in septmber and i wana know which one will have higher sound quality and will act will with CIEMs like UM Miracle

No worries there, I only posted it because the price may be a clue about the price of the upcoming DX-50.

The dx50 isn't going to be that cheap. $350+ is my guess

I'm expecting closer to $450-500.... hope i'm wrong and it's not as expensive

I'm not sure if people interested to pay such high price for DX50 which is a "down grade" from DX100.

I don't expect DX50 sound better than DX100 even I have never heard it before but base on logical sense.

May be someone is more willing to top up an additional $350 to get  the reference series like DX100 or even HDP-R10 which have already proven the top notch SQ.

I'm very sure iBasso will not kill its golden geese (DX100 & HDP-R10) who lays golden eggs for the company by making DX50 sounds better than them.

Just take my view with a grain of salt.

Regardless of the sales of the DX100 and that it is one of the best sounding daps there is, I do not think this will constrain or hobble what iBasso does for the sound of the DX50.

which sound better regardless of the portability?  PC with a good dac/amp/PSU (iUSB) or DAP/amp?

i am on the PC most of the time yet i wana know so i make listening to music only on the best source

The recently released D42 is excellent sounding out of the computer. Two 8740 dacs and if you need a boost in power just hit the switch for the internal 9 volt battery. This amp/dac in fit, finish and sound is like something that cost 3 times what it does. At 188$ to me, the D42 is a no brainer.

I use my DX100 in front of the computer all day - That way my music isn't interrupted no matter what my computer does

Is it confirmed that they are going with a Wolfson DAC? Don't Wolfson's tend to have a warm signature?
I wonder why not the ESS Sabre like the DX100?

Sabre needs a lot of power and consumes battery like hell. Sounds perfect though.

Sound quality is what will differentiate it from other DAPs on the market ATM!

I could sacrifice battery life for quality sound:)

This reminds me of a story I read many years ago about the Hoover company deciding to make their less expensive model of floor vacuum run less quietly, to reduce its appeal to customers. They attached a metal reed inside the housing that was picked (like a guitar string) by a toothed gear on the motor shaft - causing a loud buzzing sound.

Their deception backfired. Housewives unanimously decided that the less expensive model sounded more powerful, buying it in preference to the "less powerful" model that was more expensive. Oops! Hoover ended up adding the metal reed to all of their vacuums!

OK, I hate to even mention the Fiio X3 at this point, but it appears that a vendor on eBay is selling said device for $223 US plus shipping.

Perhaps a clue to the price point we can expect for the DX-50?

I may be wrong about this, but I suspect the DX50 is aimed a bit higher up the ranks than the X3. Probably closer to the (not yet completed) X5.

Therefore, I don't think we should assume that the DX50 will be as cheap as the X3.

But we will all find out soon!
