500+ Head-Fier
Just some of the growing pains to go through with a new product I guess. I still think it's a great player though!
Clarification about the output power of X3 from one review. http://www.head-fi.org/t/675321/ibasso-dx50-vs-fiio-x3-comparison-thread/75 http://personalaudio.ru/review/portable-audio/
1, The output voltage is 2.9V , the test result is mistake because the reviewer has not set the gain to high in X3.
2, The distortion of X3's line out , you may notice it is very great when it is tested in -3dBFS but it is not so great in 0dBFS. to make it clear,
0dBFS is something like you test your car in full power ( or at the highest speed 200KM/h), -3dBFS means you are driing your car at 150KM/h. the music is change all the time but not an constantly signal ( sine wave signal ). so you the distortion only
will become a little bigger when the music is in the biggest sound level.
Sadly, all of this won´t solve the 16-Bit decoding problem of 24/96 WMA Professional files
Well, in regards to my X3 becoming unresponsive to input it looks like the Sleep and Idle Poweroff options didn't make a difference. For the third time today, after letting it loop continuously through and album, the controls became unresponsive thought the music kept playing. Also, where I thought low battery might have had something to do with it, this time I had 1/2 power left (at least according to the battery meter). I don't believe that it's FW related, as I've been on 1.3.1 since it came out and didn't experience the problem until recently. It doesn't seem to be related to any particular albums or tracks either as it's happened playing several different albums. I'll have to play with it some more to see if I can pin down the circumstances under which this occurs.

Shoot. I wanted to thank you for your suggestion because with mine it now seems to work. But I haven´t heard yet enough since yesterday to make a sound statement about this.
I can confirm that it doesn´t seem to be related to any particular album, it happens on random tracks. What is the file format you´re using?
Switching 'Idle Poweroff' to OFF was indeed unsuccessful as mine crashed again. This is getting tiresome.
I've been using FLAC exclusively.
It is a little tiresome. I did a reset this morning to see if it makes a difference. The X3 is playing while I work. I'm hoping that maybe that did the trick.
Guys
I read that the new firmware needs to be delayed for further tweaking... But still very curious about the dsd part of the new firmware... Did it work?
Thanks...

Measurement amplifier FiiO X3 update. Before really was a mistake with the choice of the gain. I apologize for the inaccuracy.
0 dBFS is independent of the level, as level is adjusted after the DAC X3 and not before. Most modern recordings are normalized to 0 dBFS at klippnig DAC X3 makes more explicit normalization as a defect of sound.
