DIY - Neutrik 6.3 and Neutrik 3.5 mm right angle connectors, the 3.5mm one integrated into the 6.3mm one, and as short as possible only 3 cm of cable inside (high purity lcofc copper), can be adjusted in length by rotating the 3.5mm connector.

May I know the portable amp you showed in the photo?
Did you set the volume to max when LO to this amp?
Did you find any sound distortion when setting at max volume?

Between the C4 and C3, in the actual listening experience, what is the major different in sound quality such as sound stage, separation, clarity, detail, bass when playing with a similar song (FLAC)?

In term of product build quality & reliability, did you face any problem in C4?

the amp shown in the first picture is the analog squared paper tu-05b, it's a dream, if you can, buy one! and best of all it's battery driven and trans(portable).

the amp shown in the second and third picture is the alo continental v2.

especially in this combination i set the volume not to max. level on the continental, more like shown in the picture.

at least my c4 has a bass quality and distortion problem when playing at high volume, so sometimes i use the high gain setting of the continental.

the bass quality of the c4 and the overall sound can be really improved by attaching an usb battery power pack to the c4, i use this one, more than 10 watt and so up to 2.1 additional amperes for bass pulses:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005NGKR54/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/183-4197790-4150722

it has exactly the same size as the c4.

i have the usual c4 problem that the display is full of scratches!

the c3 has less of all in comparison to the c4 except battery life. slightly brighter sounding, slightly less soundstage, but nevertheless fine and beautiful sounding, less bass.

c3 is really limited in output power, this is a real weakness in comparison to the c4.

for the price the c3 is an excellent choice, use a good amp, i often combined it with the vorzüge amp duo, mine is customized (treble switch +4.5 db, bass switch +6db):

(sorry, my DIY interconnect needs some new paint)

the c3's user interface, display and touch buttons are a nightmare.

i sometimes use the c3 together with my akg k3003 as how to say music survival kit.

Normally how long does your battery in C4 lasts when fully charged? With the higher current battery pack as you mentioned, will it degrade the life of battery of C4 in long run?

Another question, why adding an external battery to C4 would improve its sound quality?

never measured the runtime.

for the battery of the c4 lifetime would be longer if regularily used and charged when nearly empty.

as i posted before, more stable power supply and much higher maximum current.

Hi everybody

I can't seem to update my C4 to the latest firmware. Have downloaded the RAR file from Colorfly website, entered the S/N as requested. Then copied the ISO file to my C4, nothing else on there. But when I shut it down and restart, nothing happens, just the two system folders appear. Have also tried resetting after the ISO file has been copied, same result.

Anybody else face this problem? Thomas68, any hints how the C4 will recognize the ISO file?

Thanks in advance for your replies!
