Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a hurry right now, so I can't really explain too much. I got the W3000ANV but didn't get what I was really looking for. I'll be returning those, and I really want a headphone or IEM that can deliver a strong midrange. I'd like the midrange to just jump off my MP3 and take off through the rest of the music. The price range can go up all the way to $200. I'm broadening my restrictions and saying that I'll deal with bass and treble issues as long as they're not too bad.

This is to really add power and punch to the mids of my Piano Guys music for more "fun" listening.

Did you try them on your friend's system where you were first impressed by them?

I will say it again, any of the Alessandro or Grado line up. Shure's midrange tend to be more smooth than aggressive as have been the Audio Technica's I have listened to as well.

Sounds like you're looking for Etys. Try either ER4S or HF5, according to price sensitivity :).

The HF5s have the more "fun" signature....

....but all Etys will punish you for sticking with MP3. You really will notice the difference when you switch to a lossless format such as FLAC or ALAC!
