Equally as bad

I'm about to eat my words. I just tried removing the tape over the vent...I think I may like it better. It sounds more open, and the treble and mids are more upfront than I remember.

Oh well, at least I'm man enough to admit my mistakes.

Finally got mine from China today. At first I was not overly impressed playing them with poweramp on my note 2. I decided to throw them on my clip zip for some burnin. Then I read they sound better with shallow insert and I retried them and I agree they sound great. I think I am a little sensitive to treble so these are perfect for me. I love the tips and how I barely have to push them in and I get a great seal. Thanks for the great find.

Kova's brilliantly simplistic but stupidly brilliant J-CORD TO Y-CORD MUTATION MOD.

LOL It isn't that brilliant. I just have good logical thinking, which helps me deal with other people's mistakes - probably that's why I became a lawyer (and apparently mh1c's "fixer"). I'm pretty sure two pieces of tape at the right place don't make me a genius.

Oh shoot. I shouldn't have said that

I was just starting to feel good for being able to contribute with something to this forum and I blew it. Now I'll no longer have credibility in here.

got mine today - wore them for an hour at the gym and must say they're pretty legit so far, but will definitely burn them in...

I haven't read through every page, but it looks like they aren't compatible with the iphone 4s...the only thing that happens is if I hit the middle button, instead of pausing (or skipping tracks by pressing twice), it pulls up Siri. Kinda blows as I hoped they'd be fully functional.

Originally;

Just got them and have been listening for the last hour or so, and I am extremely disappointed so far.
These sound bad, really bad.
I listened to a few songs from Killers - Sawdust and I wanted to smack them to the wall.
A few from Iron Maiden - Seventh Son, oh disaster
Now listening to Boston - Greatest Hits and these are just not made for Rock music?
So bloated, mids none, treble none, bloated bass that is as if coming from a 100" subwoofer.

Tried all the tips that it came with...

So far disaster, I am A/B'ing with SHE3580's now, and Philips just blows these Sony's away.
Do they need burn in? Or these are not rock, hard rock phones at all?

Then;

Well changing my thoughts

The fit is the key, do not shove these to your ear canals like other phones, keep them a bit outside

They will sound good

I just did A/B'in with these and the Grade 80is and they almost sound almost identical.

Definitely do not shove these into your ear like you do with other in ear headphones.

Could this be the first pair of fakes to pop up?

Where did you buy them from?

They say to burn them in AND  to cover the top part with tape if you don't like bass

My initial impressions from Dsnuts' discovery thread: Page 302

Quote:
Well, after seeing the massive amount of hype coming from this thread and ClieOS's on the MH1, I went ahead and ordered a pair from Amazon a couple days ago and they got here today. I'm listening to them now as I write this with virtually no burn in time and...

Wow.

I just...wow.

Best IEMs I've heard for the $22 I paid for them...and the others aren't even close.

Talk about value. These things are incredible.

"haha i just got mines in from amazon as well. Initial impressions was kinda underwhelming.... DAT BASS LoL was the only that was coming through, vocals sounded tiny recessed, mids were masked by the BIG DEEP BASS. The sound is REALLY smooth, maybe too smooth coming from the JVC camp. Therefore highs/ treble felt lacking.

BUT, like how my S500s sounded on open box, I can pick out that small refined details in the sound even though the bass was masking a lot of it.  So in the burner it goes, hope couple of hours will tighten up the bass, and allow the highs/ mids to come through a bit. More impressions to come.........

Oh on the built quality of this thing, man the flat cord is so soft and nice with a really attractive looking small housing/ 3.5mm audio connector which made my philips SHE5105, also with the flat cord feels like some cheapo Dollar Store IEMs, esp that cheap looking brown plastic housing. Just too bad it is a goofy looking J-cord set up like many of you have said. The tips on these things are amazing, best seal/ soft tips I have ever seen/ used on any IEM. Isolation is really good with these tips, me likey!!! "

@ donedj
I guess you don't like it RAW as well. Remember your initial impressions and burn these in with bass heavy music at max volume for a couple of days.  Then that heavy bass veil is going to start to clear up allowing the mids and highs to come through, with a more balanced and airy sound. I had to burn them in for like almost 4 days non stop to achieve what lots of the lucky ones here are hearing on open box. Yours are probably not fake but the drivers are probably raw with zero factory burn on them.  It only gets better from here.

I put them to burn in, let's see if they will get as great as all state in the thread.

The fit may end up becoming an issue for me, if i keep them shallow they don't stay in ear much, if i shove them they are bloated, this is kinda becoming a TF10 experience, but much cheaper :)

I hope the burn in will clear everything, and I can see a better fit and enjoy them.

I got these from Amazon, the same seller most here purchased from (so I don't think they are fakes), also the nozzle has a white paper type material on it, does everybody have the same?

Have a doubt here....My Galaxy S uses an OMTP plug,so mh1 would work fine with my phone. But what if i use Mh1-C ? Would I be loosing only mic control or it would be incompatible entirely?
Thing is MH1-C is available in my locality for 24$ and Mh1 sadly for 91$

Thank You in Advance :)
