. Thank you for the guide.
I really love the sound of MH1C, but cannot use them on the go because of the cable. Can someone suggest IEM with similar signature for not more than 150$ and available in Europe or Japan (the shipping from US is just too much for me)?

Sony XBA-3 is pretty much it's slightly less bassy, more refined twin.

Thanks, but in Europe the price is too high and as far as i know xba-3 is very source dependent.

It NEVER fails... You think you have something special and there's ALWAYS  a catch!!!!
What good are these POS earphones if 40 minutes after you plug them in one of the channels drops down to nothing. Damn piece of crap, what a waste of $40.

Ps. Don't tell me it's moisture because I was walking outside without a drop of rain and the controller was outside of my jacket and hanging freely in cool dry air.

LoL, looks the honeymoon phase is over for someone. Just jk. Damn that sucks to hear, but i remember others that reported similar issues but it fixed itself after a day or couple of hours of not using it. Hey they are $20 iems after all, well that was the price i paid for them so you can't expect the best quality control in the world you know.

Knock on wood!!! Like i posted on my previous post, i ran them over a couple of times with the wheels on my chair and they are still kicking up dust. They are built pretty strong and durable but QC of the inners are another issue. :  (

Tempted, the last person to try a custom reshell got it fluffed though. I guess I could send him a spare set, just in case.

Sent an email to Rob@inearcustom, he said he didn't want to do any more dynamics. Too much risk of screwing up.

It's the microphone and buttons messing up. Recabling solves that irritation.

Yeah, mine didn't turn out, could be I'm the reason. He's taking care of me though and I'm not one to "flame" businesses over something like this. It was an experiment that evidently failed. I like the Mh1c but now that it's nearly 2X the cost I'm not replacing them. I'm planning on doing a review on the Earsonics SM1 which doesn't get any attention here, my point is when they start approaching the $50 mark there's others on the market I'd grab and avoid some of the annoyances that these have.

On the bright side I didn't send him one of my much more expensive dynamics, so at least I was wise there !

It doesn't really matter since I've got Etymotic Hf3's and I'm going to be getting a pair of JH13s but....
What? Not even the crappiest mass produced earphones from Apple only work for 30-40 minutes. It's like Sony went out of their way to find the most  bizzare and obscure way to screw this up. It pisses me off on principle.
