Any further info about the Zen? I haven't do any research about it, though it does sound quite intriguing. I imagine with the extent of the performance lead Intel have over AMD, they would need to take a few years break and take their time on developing a competitive CPU on which they are going to base their future CPUs on.

Phenom II was miles behind the performance of Intel CPUs of that time as well, which was the Q9650 / i7-920 if I remember it correctly. I've never tried using AMD CPU, but I am very interested if they manage to develop a competitive product.

Nothing much except for the fact that all of the talent AMD hired awhile ago 2-3 years ago are the ones behind the project. Intel isn't using this time to pull ahead in raw performance but working more on lower power consumption to take over the mobile market. Only estimated release is 2016 (I think they said the beginning? I don't know).

Phenom II was much closer. It could still compete with Nehalem in most situations.

Badass, EVGA is sending me a GTX 760 superclocked, should be a bit better than the GTX 480, run cooler and more efficiently.

Got a new external hard drive! Finally, some USB 3.0 goodness. They will go well with a Fractal case.

They look really nice, do you actually use them for mobile use though?  Those ones that require wall warts are a pita IMO I use one for back up but a smaller 3.5inch drive that gets its power from usb so I only have to carry around one usb cable.  Still get plenty good write speeds.

The Step Up Program is amazing.

Also easily exploitable...sorta.
lol it was just an RMA. ^.^ don't know if I should immediately sell it bnib and upgrade to a 970 though.

No reason to upgrade to the 970 if you can't use it. Let's be honest here, most people can't use the power of a 970.

Also no point unless you just want the latest or want to go with a more powerful mITX build as soon as ASUS, MSi, and Gigabyte release their half-length 970s (only one so far w/ a half length is Galax/Galaxy I believe. Zotac has one with a cooler that's 2-3cm longer than half length).

No, they are desktop drives and require a power brick. I have two 2.5" portable drives for mobile use; a USB 2.0 and a 3.0 one.

The 2.0 is the HP Pocket Media Drive, and its USB port is the durable B type as opposed to the mini B commonly found on many other drives:

The 3.0 is a Seagate Expansion wiwth the typical flimsy micro b 3.0:

Well my GTX 480 would run pretty slow on some games at 1920x1200, and the 760 isn't too much faster. Also, I like getting one of the top cards and keeping it for a good while. I may get a half length GTX 970 when the prices drop though, I really want to do a mITX build next, so much more portable and just not so unneedlessly big,

Looks like my GTX 650 Ti Boost has finally reached its limit. It ran Watch_Dogs on High no problem. It ran Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel at max graphics without breaking a sweat (well, it's Borderlands, so no surprise here), but Far Cry 4? Frame rates drop below 30 on High graphics. Even then, it still looks pretty good on medium. Ah well, looks like I'm going to have to upgrade in a couple years' time. New motherboard, graphics card, maybe an extra HDD...or one of those gorgeous Fractal cases.

Far Cry 4 runs like schiit on some hardware.

Not just yours. Nvidia is a lot better on it, but it is by no means perfect.

Wait for the new Fractal, here's what I think are some pics of it, super sexy if so.
