just got the s600s in blue.  only 35.00 or so on amazon. still breaking in.  love the way  they sound and look. seem like they may  be more transparent than
the s500s, although probably same drivers, but fit over the ear (barely) and so sound different.  build not as robust as s500 however  not much talk about them on head-fi.
any of you out there have any experiennce with the s600s?

As far as I know, the S600 does not have carbon nanotube drivers, which is what makes the S400 and S500 so good.  Do you have the S500?

Correct, they do not have the carbon nanotube drivers of the S400 and S500. That is why they sound different. The S600 need EQ correction , so if your source doesn't have a good EQ, don't bother. Also, the build quality is definitely not up to the standards of the S500.

If you have a decent EQ on your source, then they're good for the money....but the S500 are a step up for sure.

Although I have no experience with the S600's this has been gone over several times before WAY back in this thread. The S600's don't have CN drivers (according to several reputable head-fi'ers) they have a "carbon diaphragm". FWIW

Guys i need an answer please. Is the S500 better than the SRH-440? Cant find any comparisons here.

These are two totally different headphones, that's like asking is a pen better than a pencil...

for $26 IMO it's a no-brainer. I've got the s500s and a friend just recently got the s400s. s400s aren't fully burned in yet but already complement the s500s in that they're a little more intimate and forward.

No one really responded last time I asked, so I'll try again.

How much does the sound change when using the WS55 pads? Does it open up the soundstage a bit? I've used HM5 pads in the past, but I really enjoy the bass without the HM5s on so I probably won't use them anymore.

Also, is there no place to buy them other than ebay? $35 is a hefty price for pads, and I could get a pair of s400s for cheaper haha.
