Are there any sweet deals on the TH900 in the US at the moment?

I've been waiting on the massdrop.  I think they got a nice price last time. Somewhere between 1000 and 1100 I believe.

Thanks for letting me know. Will it take long?
I can't sign in with the link, I don't have (or want) a Facebook account.
I guess the price in the US is about $1300 at the moment?

I was wondering what they went for on Massdrop.. Seems pointless joining the drop for 1100 + Shipping. Nearly the same price as buying directly in Australia. Damn exchange rates killing us :frowning2:

I searched the thread and it was 1099 last time.  Not sure how long it actually takes for the drop to activate + ship.  Someone here might be able to help out with that info.

The one other drop I've done took about two weeks to ship.  Seems like it varies depending on the manufacturer.  I'll be sure to post here once the drop is activated.

Thank you. I am loving them more each day. There are other headphones I would like to try / own, but I am so glad I purchased the TH900's. They really are an exceptional headphone.

They're fantastic headphones in my opinion. Love the clarity, treble detail, soundstage (which is impressive for a closed headphone), and the exceptional low end quality. Even though the mid-range is a bit recessed sometimes it still sounds very clear. I've always liked how TH900 handles the treble; it's extended, detailed and most importantly smooth. I tend to be rather sensitive to treble if it's "spiky", (Ultrasone headphones in particular).

Any tips for replacement earpads for the TH-900?

Are yours peeling too? The pads aren't cheap, something like Y7000/channel DIY, or Y9000/channel installed by Fostex. I've been holding back doing mine but I'm getting black bits all over my ear & the headphone table now so I may not have a choice.

Yeah, they're peeling and in damn worse shape than anything I've previously owned. Their shape has changed (rounded) and black bits everywhere like you said and they just really look terrible.

I've purchased a replacement pair of the stock earpads from Fostex's Australian distributor a while back. They were about $100 and didn't come with the plastic rings. Can't remember exactly how much. But the thought is that I will just keep those in storage for now and perhaps try some third party earpads if there are any that are highly recommended.

That's AUD$100/pair!? That's cheaper than the pricing I  got in Tokyo :frowning2:.

Yeah, it was $88 including postage in August 2014. Not really cheap for earpads (in my opinion - though it depends since these are supposed to be made of eggshell membranes), but cheaper than the price you were given in Japan. Stuff is usually expensive over here.

How long have you had the TH900 before they started peeling?

I got a pair free, but lawton angle pads are 45-50 bucks I think. I'm one year, no peeling yet...
