mine is serial no. 00687.  came with wooden stand, and the swivels match perfectly.

Wow, I didn't know the wire stand was still being included that long into the production of these headphones. The wire stand is quite a joke... although I'm sure many of you had headphones stands awaiting these precious cans anyway.

Both are pretty cheap looking. Next to the Woo Audio stand that is.

You guys are a bit harsh, ya know. He's been modding ostensibly the second cousin to the TH900 for years with a proven track record based on many happy before and after customers. He might be more than a sideshow act.

But look, I have no skin in this game. I have his D2K phones and even knowing how they sound I doubt I'd tear open my TH900 (if I had them) either. For $2K they better not need Marks service. Ever. I was just pointing out earlier the availability of a modder for these.

Carry on gents.

Anyone has noticed on Lawton's website there is a shot of the driver of the TH900, it's made in china, looks exactly the same as the Denons.

Man, these past few days I've been imagining about TH900 with the Woo Audio WA7 together. They would look so good together.

Fostex is who built the D1K, 2K, 5K and 7K for Denon for years......................basically the exact same chassis with better internals, like GM used to do with their Pontiac/Buick/Chevy cars years back.  Only the pricing is now Cadillac level.

My Fostex arrived last 2 week, it's absolutely an beautiful phone if not the best cups I've seen. Comfortable wise, I almost feel nothing on my head when wearing it except the clamping force.

After about 150 hours of 'break-in' I can tell that this TH900 is the ideal phone I've been looking for a quite long time! I fits perfectly all my needs: awesome bass, powerful kicks, well controlled and extended bass but not bloomy, sparkling high and good mid. Since I mostly listen to trance/progressive, metal rock, and sometimes pop/acoustic, TH900 is clearly one step ahead of my old LCD-2 & ALO Ref 8 cable.

And pairing it with the Violectric V800&V200 combo is like lifting the TH900 to a new level, comparing to the Schiit Bifrost/Lyr combo. It's more engaging, more 3D imaging with deeper soundstage, especially the bass, the Schiit lineup is a little bright to my eye, but it's a great combo anyway, just not as great as the German's statements.

Just my 2cents. Cheers,

I also love the TH900 with the V200, I have been using that set up a lot more than my LCD 3 rig lately.

Are you loving electronic music with the TH900s? I most definitely am, and other headphones don't come very close in that regard except for my other dynamic Grado HP1000 (believe it or not, its a 20 year old headphone).

I read through most of this thread and found that people generally agree that these headphones are good for EDM, trance, rock etc. Others agree that the TH900 does well with all genres of music.

Anyone a fan of Emile Sande/Adele type female vocals? I used to have the LCD-2 and they were wonderful with female vocals. I need a closed back headphone. Wondering if the TH900 will suit the music i listen to, or if I should wait for the LCD Closed back.
