Android phones and USB DACs

Team,

The metadata is not coming across correctly from iTunes to Android phone, about 20% missing info, mostly artist, album name.

I have used SynctunesPro and a direct copy method.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I would very much like to to enable my LG G3 to use a Dragonfly USB DAC for listening in my car (I use Phiaton NC220s for Aptx bluetooth headphone listening, and it is great), but I downloaded USB Host Check to see whether my phone was host support-enabled, but it is not. Is there a software workaround for this?

You may need to upgrade to Android 5.1 or newer if you're still on KitKat.

If you don't need USB System Audio, HibyPlayer can directly interact with certain DACs. I have it working on Jelly Bean.

UAPP and Onkyo also work, as they have their own USB drivers within app.

Tried playing some dff files in HiByMusic.

DoP and Native don't work, even though the Encore mDSD supports both. Only PCM mode works, which is kind of pointless.

Anyone know how to get HiByMusic working with Native DSD or DoP?

DoP gives no sound.

Native DSD just gives static. The mDSD detects DSD and changes its LED to blue, but it just outputs static.

EDIT: UAPP works for both DoP and Native. I'm currently listening to DSD64 dff file in Native on UAPP Trial. Was really hoping HiByMusic would be able to do it. However, at the beginning of the file, there's pops on bass notes. I wonder if this is a problem with the file or the player?

EDIT2: Now HiByMusic will play music in Native DSD mode, but with a heavy static layer on top. DoP still has no playback. Sometimes skipping to the next track will knock the DAC out of Hiby USB mode and revert the audio back to USB system audio.

Most likely.

HiByMusic doesn't allow playlist export or backup, btw. The playlists are embedded within the app itself.

Bummer if you ask me.

Anyone comment on another audiophile player that's free and allows playlist backups?

Try AIMP. Don't know if it could save your playlist. But at least it is also free.

In need of a bit of help,
I am trying to stream google music through my phone/dac/amp setup and I am having some difficulties. I am using a LG G5 with android 6.0.1 and an OGT cable. I am able to get a song to stream for 5 seconds and then it stops, if I hit play again it will go another 5 seconds or so but then stops again. It is not a connection issue with wifi. Pretty odd

Streams fine through google music desktop app.

I'd like the option to use my phone, so any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Got a new cable, needed another cable to connect my HTC 10 to my Denon DA-10. Still can't get Neutron to play WFMU.Org Give The Drummer Some stream, but USB Audio Pro seems to work. Trouble is, Android decides On The options, withvthe dialog "do you want Android to open this with... ". Sometimes it gives me the option to use USB Audio Player Pro, sometimes it only gives me the option to use Neutron, which still won't play in the same exact set up. The 10//Denon convince is sounding really nice right now, driving FAD Sonorous III cans. Any ideas?

Try the old "Force Stop" to kill off any instances of the players that are still running and start with a clean slate. You can also reboot the phone.

Thanks, I'll give those ideas a try.

Tried restarting phone and even uninstalled Neutron, didn't help. Now even USB Audio Pro isn't working, won't open WFMU stream to dac. :frowning2:
