Thanks
Can you recommend a  Y OTG cable wich will not cause that DC voltage issue?
I am using this battery: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anker-E5-15000mAh-External-Battery-Charger-for-iPads-Ssmsung-Galaxy-Tablets-/321157964825? which should not pose any problem.

Thanks again

I got the one with the female Micro-USB split that accepts power. They also offer one with a Type-A USB Male that can plug into a USB port but that wasn't in stock when I ordered mine. As a consequence I need to use an aditional cable.

What power source do use for the Geek? is it a battery, a usb wall charger or PC usb slot?
Did you encounter any heating of the earphones?

Thanks

Hi there, i tried it out just a second ago, and it didn't work out of the box with my Xperia-Z and the Dragonfly V1.2 :-(

I tried it with the UARP-Trial and it worked fine, no stuttering no glitching whatsoever, EVERYTHING PERFECT.
But now the Question, why did it work for the guy in the Youtube-Video?

Is it about the Chipset of the used  DAC or probably linked to the Android-Version running on the Xperia-Z any Ideas?

EDIT: Would really love to be able to use it with the Walkman-App, i found out that there is "USB Audio Player Pro" that features atleast some kind of a music-browser but not to the extent of the Walkman-App, anyone that has managed to get it working with the Walkman-App, FEEL FREE TO TELL ME ABOUT IT :)

Thanks.

I've been trying to use a Xonar U3 with a Moto G but I get terrible crackling and popping sound.

I've tried USB Audio Pro but it doesn't fix any of the issues despite testing settings and buffer values in options.

Anyone know what the issue may be? I hadn't bought the Xonar U3 exclusively to use with phone but I thought it would be a nice added bonus.

@ Headified, Did you update your phone to Android 4.4? With the newest Android, Xperia Z works with most players. Only on Android 4.3 (and before) that it works only in UAPP/UARP.

Nope, i didnt even know that 4.4 was yet to be officially out.
Iam still at 4.2 sadly

Ofc. i could flash the leaked 4.4-Image but i rather wait till it gets officially rolled out, that shouldnt be to long anyways.
Iam facing also some bugs, while trying out UAPP/UARP-TRIAL lock-screen gets stuck and is not responsible anymore (button-pressing won't turn the display on again)
Not sure if it is related to 4.2 or to UAPP/UARP or directly with the Dragonfly.
Just mailed the  support, and awaiting if they know the bug

Thanks.

@headified , Sorry Bro the confusion. I took again my Xperia Z and it was Android 4.3 (was confused with my Galaxy Note 3 and its abilities)...Sorry on that.
So its UAPP/UARP only on USB DACs..

Iam a bit confused now :P
Is it just possible over UARP/UAPP on the Xperia-Z or is it possible without 3rd-Party Apps with 4.3 on the Xperia-Z?

I would update right now, if that would be the case, the 4.3 Update is there for quite some time, just being lazy to hit the Upgrade-Button :)

Thanks!

Xperia Z on 4.3: NO Third Party Player ONLY UARP/UAPP works for USB DACs

Sorry again for the confusion...

Yep, i just updated to latest and checked it myself, no out-of-the-box playing...
But the Bug that freezed the XperiaZ while using the DAC over OTG is gone.

Will propably buy "UAPP" or wait for 4.4 to roll out :)
Actually "UAPP" is pretty well integrated as it used the playlist/lastplayed etc. list of the WALKMAN-App, is it my eyes or is the only thing missing an option to search through
the DB?

Most if not all DAPs are computers as they have micro-processors in them.

A lot of stuff have a microprocessor chip inside, like my smart card. And I can't use my Visa card as a general purpose computer as I do with a PC or with a Galaxy Note3.
My Android-powered Note3 is a general purpose computer because any consumer can download a third-party program like UAPP or a third-party developer like the UAPP developer can write and enhance his own music player program.
http://www.head-fi.org/t/632518/analog-squared-paper-discussion-and-appreciation-thread/3330#post_10475578
The AK240 DAP targeted by Bmichels is powered by Android but it is not a general purpose computer because it is not intended to be sold as a computer but only as a DAP: a consumer can't download UAPP and a third-party developer can't write a single line of code.
DAP makers used to have all their products under control; hence almost all DAP are closed systems.

I find the iPod Touch 5G to be quite good, only that it cannot take a micro-SD card so you can get it with up to 64 GB internal. Its built in DAC and Amp are surprisingly good, the software is very good as you can get Neutron (recently) on iOS. There are other good player apps on it as well, in the past not so much. It is small, light weight, easily attaches to external DACs and its USB Audio implementation is far better than anything I've seen on Android and I'm a big Android fan and can admit this. You can also stream from the device as well as listen to streaming services, even Google All Access.

Interesting.
Which Android did you compare? What are the different hard/soft components involved in the comparison?

My note 3 sounds Heavenly out of my cypher labs solo db & duet combo! Streaming spotfiy or rocking power amp!

I have the solo db hook up to note 3 using a Forza Audio otg cable. I use uapp for my evo 4G lte though. I have used the standard otg cable that came with the solo db and it also works fine.

May I rephrase that your Cypher Labs AlgoRhythm Solo -dB can work with your Note 3 using or not using UAPP, and it can only with your HTC EVO 4G LTE using UAPP?
Thanks.
