I really hope the m-100 would be as portable as the m-80s but sound wise a hybrid of both m-80 and cross fade LP
That's true, however I highly doubt those people will even be able to discern the differences in SQ between an M-80 and M-100, appreciate their style factor, or even know what the word discern means.
All joking aside, I do hope the M-100 is an overall upgrade to the M-80 unamped as well, and that the additional SQ bump when amped will be outstanding. I trust Val and his team will do their best to please everyone - they're definitely ahead of the game when it comes to the M-80. All we can do is wait and see.
Btw, no-more-than-three-smokes-a-day head-fiers unite lol.

Something I'd better mention before I forget: If you're going to be making "audiophile" headphones, you'll need to do dual-entry, as some of us like to use balanced amps. With more balanced portable amps coming out too it'll be interesting. I realise we're a small minority though.
Funny you mention this, I have thought about this as Drew from Moon Audio requested it and I have ONE M-100 with it.
I may have a creative solution for the tinkerers that want to modify it to be balanced easier, it's in my "nice to have features" for launch. Yet, I cannot promise because if it hurts our reliability testing it'll have to be a manual mod. It definitely will be made to be a consumer-friendly single entry for the 99 percentile.
When I want a stogie and decide I shouldn't...I reach for headphones!
Quick question I'm sure this was answered a million times before but I was wondering has the final prototype been created yet, if so what is the final sq like when compared to some headphones like the hd25, m80, lp2, m50, and any others comparable?
Haha, I reach for them when I go out for a stogie.
I believe it'll be a combo between an M-80 and LP2. I'm eagerly anticipating to hear these Wonder how the treble will sound compared to M-80.

Actually, its a M-80 + LP2 + _____ love child... can't spoil it yet, stay tuned!!!
I've given up on trying to find a few "benchmark" headphones for it as I usually do, its a different sound signature I've never heard before that was unplanned but awesome at the same time!
Yeah, man! That's what I like to hear. When you come the fork in the road-- go straight ahead and forge your own path!
I also love surprises!
Val, I'll be working in downtown LA this summer; does V-MODA have a physical storefront to visit, or do y'all just have a secret batcave where you disappear into your coffins during the day and wait for night to come out and play?
The headphone world in in need of a great sounding circumaural closed portable design as there aren't too many out there worth their weight. Sounds like these are semi-open so hopefully they seal outside noise enough to be used in louder environments. I'm hoping these have highs that are not rolled off, are not distant sounding in the mid-range, and do not have bass that overrides the other frequencies but that is present, punchy, and detailed. Hand in hand with the sound, they need to be comfortable (which I think is the case already with the LP so this shouldn't be a problem). Then throw in the extras you already provide with the other models and you could have something special here. I'm definitely waiting with much anticipation for a listen.

Wow.... my excitement totally went up a few notches. As if I wasn't already eager to try them!
