I think those wanting more bass should go with V-Moda's existing headphone: Crossfade LP1/2. the original Crossfade LP has been going for ~$100 or so due to stock clearance as well

What I want from the M-100 is bass extension but I don't want MOAR BASS!!!1! If I did, I would buy the LP2. Please Val, keep the bass closer to neutral (though, not anemic) with these ones.

I feel like the bass will be slightly more powerful, but that can be credited to the larger drivers because if you want a balanced sound that's easy to get in a supraaural, but a powerful bass is better in larger drivers ^^. That being said, I think this will still have about the same signature as the M-80, but with general tweaks, so don't worry not lp2 level bass. He made that distinction clear in a much earlier post

Interesting that the M-100 has a different connector for the headphone cord than the LP2 does.  Since it extends out, yet has the connector recessed, I'm guessing this will protect the connector on the headphone more.  It also means that cable selection for the headphones is more limited (not all cable connectors will fit in the recessed socket).

As long as it isn't a metal jacket one, you can generally trim it to size and shapes with a cutter without disrupting the circuit. Not as visually pleasing once removed from the M-100 but if its on usability...

The bass on the LP2s are delightful, but yeh, I can see where you're coming from. I too am not looking at the M-100 as a refined LP2; rather, I'm hoping that it'll be a good general can with decent bass extension. Something like the AT M50, but better. :)

Give this music a try vibemerchant http://soundcloud.com/jazzmoslounge this is the one i am listening to now http://soundcloud.com/jazzmoslounge/guidos-lounge-cafe nice chilled music!

Chill indeed :)
And since that last link (radioshow) was introduced in my native dutch; I wonder what the availability of the V-100's M-100's will be in Europe, and in The Netherlands in particular. (No objection however with purchasing them directly from V-moda.com)
@Val, care to elaborate on that subject?
P.S. You come across as a pretty inspirational entrepeneur, by actually putting in the effort to involve your users. Instead of companies playing 'social' on twitter and facebook, while they're mainly using these sites as a cheap marketing channel.

I seen that you were looking for a headphone amp and headphones on your thread, why don't you wait till the m100s come out and get them with the fiio e17 and you could use them when you are out and about aswell? It's just if you get the he400s you will probably need a graham slee novo and hrt music streamer 2 to get the best out of them that's all! news.cnet.com/audiophiliac/ SORRY I HAVE GOT YOU MIXED UP WITH SOMEONE ELSE ON ANOTHER THREAD!

Can happen. Intrigued however with your suggestion about combining the M-100's with the e17. Do you expect a - noticeably - better sound quality?

Yes if you are just using the m100s straight from an ipod the e17 will improve the sound ten fold..p.s I don't own one but i have heard one with a iphone and hd25s,i have the adl cruise dac i use with a cowon j3 and shure se535 le buds which sounds even better!

Wow...Spendy to use that (ADL Cruise DAC) on a J3; it costs about 2X what a J3 itself does and you can't use the DAC half of it (no digital out).  I wonder what Vibemerchant is using for a player (since the e17is also a DAC/amp), since if not using a player with a digital out, it would kind of be a waste to get a DAC/amp (instead of getting just a headphone amp), and some $$$ could be saved there.

Although, the e17 could be useful for its usb DAC capabilities (if used for playing higher end FLAC files from a computer)... It costs over $200, and I would not be sure if it has 3X the benefit of a $70 e11 (if you just need an amp, and don't need a DAC).

I use the headphone socket out from the j3 to line in on the cruise! p.s I also agree with what you said, the j3 and shure se215 would probably do the job!

I couldn't keep up with the volume of posts being done in the e17 page but did the price go up? As far as I can remember I bought mine for $139 + shipping or something... if anything I definitely did not reach the $200 threshold.
