No no...it's the Ortofon MHd-Q7 which will be released in Japan only (officially at least, I'm sure via grey market it'll be available overseas). Looks like I've mentioned already elsewhere in Head-Fi so it's no secret.

I don't see the comparison because the RX-Mark3B is a battery operated handheld amp., while the Ortofon is not.

Been a while since I posted here, but thanks to all who've contributed.  I finally completed the tagging project of my music library and decided to change up my DX100 library.  I erased the internal SD memory and without thinking also reformatted my 64GB microSD card...yes, the one with my TB files on it... DOH.

Here's to hoping I don't need any of those uninstalled apps!

Then throw the L3 in there . Still I prefer the T1 with the DX100 over the Triad because the sound stage is too big on the Triad with the DX100. I like more intimacy and balance to the sound stage. The T1 does that in spades on my DX100. The Triad however kills it on the desktop (synergy) :).

Why does it seem too good to be true? It says it qualifies for amazon free shipping. Do you know what that means. That means it is either being sold by amazon or they are fulfilling the order. So don't worry. I got mine for around $50.00 plus. Its not fake.

Actually man get it from here if possible. Amazon.com (USA). It's like $4.00 cheaper . I think I'm gonna bite on this one.

Yes the Ortofon is battery driven. I believe you're mistaking the MHd-Q7 for the older Hd-Q7 which I reviewed here on Head-Fi previously. Here's the pix of the new model I'm referring to :-

I asked Dyaems who has had the DX100 and the Sony F807 about SQ difference.  Here are some further details about my usage of a DAP to help answer the question:
-listen to the following bands a lot: Radiohead, Dirty Projectors, Beirut, St Vincent, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, The National, Ullirch Schnauss, Grizzly Bear, Sigur Ros, Bat For Lashes, etc.: so I guess alternative and some electronic
-I have 98-99% of my music in 16/44.1
-I will only use the DAP for portable use, because I am satisfied with my home rig, although if I travel for a long time it could become transportable...but for the next couple of years it will be for portable use
-I will use Ear Sonics SM3 IEMs with the DAP

Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the clarification. I would like to try it, but its too big to be portable.

Sorry for the OT talk :-

For the combination above, yes it is. To be honest, I find most portable rigs to be big somewhat. By portable I mean really "on-the-go". The only one where I've been using the most this year has been the Go-DAP 4.0 where it really integrates with my 4S, and next is my DX100. All else, CLAS+RxMk3, SR-71B, Go-DAP X, etc. have gone onto the satchel and used only when I'm sitting down at a cafe for an extended period of time. As such I see the MHd-Q7 to be the same. I've been using that either with the CLAS, or straight LOD connection to the iPad.

Size aside, I find the the holographic SQ presentation to be very appealing.

Edit: one combo I forgot to mention where the MHd-Q7 could match is with the AK100. The size almost matches, just somewhat thick like a Rubik's Cube. Even though it was double-amping, it sounded really nice together.

The price seems right...but as far as getting a "best" performing and compatible card...is this the way to go for the DX100?  I've had good luck with Sandisk cards on other devices so that's a start....

Also, whats the difference bewtween these two cards?  Supposedly the Class 6 once delivered is actually a Class 10:
