I haven't had any problems with MP3 files (assuming they're tagged correctly) but the FLAC files list by order copied.  I too had to drag and drop by individual song to get them to display and play in order.  I believe my Squeezebox Touch also does this with FLAC files.

The initial album I tried this on seemed to have worked but subsequent albums done in bulk did not.  The first album I had done a lot of retagging and renaming of files so I may have misinterpreted the results.  As of right now the only way to insure proper order (that I know of) is to rename files starting with 10 (instead of 1 or 01).  Of course, to complicate matters when I recopied the album I was messing around with I changed the file names back to 1, 2, 3 etc. and it still plays in order.

If anybody knows another solution please let me know...

EDIT: Just to confirm I took a new album which did not play in order and renamed the files starting with 10 (instead of 1).  I unplugged and confirmed it played in order than plugged it back in and changed the file name back to 1, 2, 3, etc.  It worked and the HiRes FLAC album plays in order with original file names.

...and again supports my observations that it is tuned towards Headphones rather than IEMs. I am still looking for the sweet spot regarding ohms. I should be receiving my pair of Shure SRH 1840 by this weekend hopefully, and that is rated at 65ohm. The DT1350 has a rating of 80ohm and sounds good with the DX100 having a total grip and control over them. I will be buying many more Headphones and IEM to experiment with, the list is building..........

The output impedance of the DX100 is less than one Ohm, so it is equally capable of driving IEMs as well as full-sized cans. Something like the DACport has an output impedance of 10ohm, thus rendering it useless with most easily driven cans and especially multidriver IEMs.

That, combined with my own findings leads me to respectfully disagree that it is better for full sized cans than IEMs. Unlike many popular amps, it does not have a poorly designed output stage and is thus fully capable of handling low impedance loads as well as high impedance without deteriorating sound quality. The fact that you, personally, prefer to use it with full sized cans does not mean that it is better for full size cans than IEMs. Thanks to the high output power and low output impedance, there is no such thing as "ohm sweetspot". It will handle all cans well. Wether you like the sound from a certain set of headphones when they're powered properly, without distortion, is a different matter.

I want to confirm that external drives/USB mount perfectly on the DX100 (as my Note) , just it will suck the power quickly.

That's pretty damn awesome. That would allow me to plug in a 2TB external harddrive and have the ultimate desktop rig. Only thing stopping me is that since I only add albums I actually listen to, I haven't even filled my 64+32gb yet

I have the HE500, which is an excellent synergy, open, dynamic and transparent and the LCD2 ver 1, though out of the two I had, the one I have now is the most delicate and refined so there are variations, and with this LCD2, the sound is also excellent, though a little different than the HE500 so preference might also be dictated by mood.

I am noticing that after 300 hours of run time on the DX100, the sound has melded into a very coherent display of an audio panorama of sound. At around 250 hours the sound, to my ear, turned down for a while, with less detail and a slightly muddier sound. This is something I have heard in other amps as the caps form, etc, though times may differ.

I had the same phenomenon with my DX100. However, it wasn't as extreme as the Triad L3 at around 500 hours, I thought I had damaged it as the sound was so dead in signature. I ran it over night, thinking I would return it the next day if it sounded the same and to my astonishment when I next listened, it was like a different beast! The sound opened up completely!

My DX100 is sounding pretty stunning now as a source to the L3 for IEMs and as a DAP to recently purchased Headphones. It has been running literally non stop since purchased, and the sound has completely fallen into place. The edginess has disappeared completely. The balance and coherency is tops! The soundstaging is beyond belief, incredible in all three axis. On some well recorded music it is projecting 1/2ft in front, beyond shoulders in width and around 1 1/2ft behind and this is with the red SE535ltd with a silver/gold hybrid cable, which supposedly don't image so well!!!

Also, the DX100's amp section besides the Triad, is the only amp that can drive the 300ohm HD650 convincingly, all my other 3 portable amps failed miserably, including the 2Stepdance. These amps all lost grip and control of the bass, sounding muddled, flat and woolly at best. With Headphones the DX100 is closing the gap with the Triad L3 sound quality wise and again supports my observations that it is tuned towards Headphones rather than IEMs. I am still looking for the sweet spot regarding ohms. It would be interesting to see how the DX100 move forward from here! I will be getting lots of cables for Headphones and with the supreme ability of the DX100 in detail retrieval, I think I will get the sonics that I wish for via the DX100 and used as a bedside rig!!!

The Sen. HD700 will be 150ohm, so the DX100 should drive better than  the 650! Man thank you for the update (your making me more eager...), now I have to wait for the HD700. Come to think of it, everything I wanted (related to Head-fi) since the day I joined Head-Fi, I had to wait and wait and wait for it.

This what I want to hear "The SRH1840", please update us ASAP, regards.

At least with the HE-500, I really don't see the need for the Lyr. Listening at "above healthy" levels, the DX100 drove the HE-500 with great authority and control while retaining beautiful clarity. This was at a volume setting of 230, just above half power on high gain. Alas, I haven't heard the Lyr so it might very well contribute some sort of magic that I'm not aware of - I'm not trying to tell anyone what sounds good, just wondering out loud, that's all.

What are you guys using to tag, and what type of tags are you writing to the tracks?

Mp3Tag - The Only Way To Fly (On Windows at least, but runs fine in Wine as well).

1) Track number, two digits. 01 instead of 1 etc. No 1/12 bs or stuff like that.
2) Title
3) Artist (Not album artist, but I might change my mind on that)
4) Album
5) Year, four digits. 1991, not 1/1/1991.
6) Artwork. Would be cool if Ibasso supported it.

I then use the awesome tools in Mp3 tag to rename all files to %track% - %title% - ie. 08 - Gush.flac. If only Ibasso would at least sort based on filename, that would mean something. I also have a batch job set up to export the embedded artwork to folder.jpg and cover.jpg. If only Ibasso supported having artwork in the same folder as the music files, that would mean something.

Yes, I use Mp3Tag as well. It's great.

I just copied an album over that had no tags whatsoever and it listed and played everything in proper order - 01,02....10,11 according to filename. Then I wrote tags to the tracks using Mp3Tag - still no issues with play order.

I have Mp3Tag only write APEv2 tags. Previously I had a few troublesome files that had both APEv2 and ID3v1/ID2v2 tags. Once I removed the IDvx tags, no problems. Check your tags again to see what's there.

Mine are flac tags only... And for the life of me, I can't get things to play in the proper order. Incredibly annoying and to me this seems like a relatively small thing for ibasso to fix. Haven't tried reloading the 1.0.6 firmware yet, might just give that a spin...
