Just to add to Sylverants agreement:

This is what I tried to touch upon a bit earlier as well. I think it goes without saying, but someone with a big blog/website for reviewing headphones should try to choose their words very carefully and with more responsibility. Not everyone will be able to distinguish the positive reactions during the "honeymoon phase" with a headphone, from paragraphs written with more responsibility behind it. Some will take things literally, and not figuratively, and without knowing the complete sentiments about said headphone, they will start placing orders. This seems to me as a recurring phenomenon on head-fi though.. One person says that a certain headphone or IEM is clearly better than some other headphone, without mentioning why or what's so great about it or even that it's their subjective opinion after owning it for 5 hours - and the hype is born and a new 'cult' is created.

Exactly. And for those us of us that have been long enough to know, it's often a problem when you find new members with a post count greater than 1,000 already blindly throwing "absolutes" to people that don't know any better. Is it wise to derail such a thread in the interest of friendly criticism?

The HD800 has a huge soundstage, yeah. I actually touched on the problem this creates for me at times in the SRH1840 impressions I just posted. It can cause certain compositions to seem disjointed. The Qualia exhibits this effect more, though. It doesn't have a soundstage quite as expansive, but it has more air between notes.

I find the Stax Lambdas to have a really pleasing, open sort of presentation. It's more cohesive too. However the shortcoming there is that it lacks weight. On the other hand, it gives music a vaporous quality that is pleasing in its own right.

I don't find the lambdas to lack weight or impact as most people believe. There's this sort of misconception or preconception for most people going into stats- that because of their open nature, they can't output the dynamics as a whole. Honestly, I found that Stax have more than enough slam and extension, it sort of grows on you as you listen longer. It's also worth mentioning that power source is important, I found that bass impact and soundstage was diminised with certain poor quality conditioners.

I'm sorry to say this, but I find your post rather pointless. Go troll someone else's thread. Thanks.

I don't see how he was trolling this thread?
He was just stating his opinions, as he's certainly entitled to. No offense was meant.

Coming into Muppet's general topic thread and criticizing her comments. She didn't post this stuff in the main HD700 thread, so why does he have to come here and troll her/us?

I guess I'll take the plunge then... It's been on my mind for days now.

I don't think I'm ready to invest in electrostats yet.  I sort of hope I'll never be.

Did you receive your Vita yet?  I think I skipped a few pages of this thread because it's moving so fast.

Posted some more long winded, rambling impressions of the SRH1840 as compared to the HD800:

I think some of my sentiments are a bit incoherent at times, but the SRH1840 is still throwing me for a loop in certain respects. I find it to be a rather enigmatic headphone!

Awesome writeup as usual.  You always have just the right word.  When I think of a simulacrum this immediately springs to mind.

how does this contribute?

It points out the hypocrisy and completely irrevent nature of your post. I have nothing against music nor maxvala. Both are respectable headfi'ers. However, I do have a problem when you comment "Ahahaha like a boss" in all caps. This is an intelligent discussion I believe?

Point taken, though I still don't believe music is a "troll" haha, he's a pretty serious man.

Going back to my used thing I guess I could just make sure to always use Paypal since they always rule in favor of the buyer. I was going to do this guy a favor and save him $50 on paypal fees, but he decided to try to scam me anyways.

I once sold a Pentium 4 chip I pulled from a working computer, stored in the proper casing, and it came back with every single pin smashed and the money had been pulled from my bank account by paypal. The comment was that the chip "overheated and blew up". I carefully straightened every single pin, none broke thankfully, I installed it in a beater motherboard I could risk losing and it actually still worked as good as new. Put me off using Paypal for a long time though.

He tends to be very confrontational, without invitation usually. Serious people can be trolls, too.

Funny, I was thinking of the same thing when I read that word.

That's a bummer. Ebay has taught me to always be thorough and meticulous. Though it doesn't stop the occasional international scammer. I'll get my money back, but at the expense of a month of frozen funds in that particular transaction. Do you think a lawyer is necessary?
