Well mine have shipped. I really hope the Atrios with the MG7 driver are much better then the Klipsch S4 I have as even with 50 hours of burn in they are still very Sibilant.

Well they have finally arrived. Listening to them right now. I can hear the potential unfortunately my Samsung Galaxy S II is crap as a source so  it can't fully push them. I should get a better feel for them once I get home. I will say they are very comfortable with the large black foams easily as comfortable for me as the Klipsch S4's. The bass is there but due to my phone it doesn't really blow me away yet. I can hear it trying but the phone just doesn't have the oomph needed. I am getting no distortion on the low mids or highs liking them a lot so far.

Well I just got them home and was able to plug them into something that can push them fully and I have to say they are awesome and at the price I paid of 109.99 shipped they completely blow the Klipsch S4's away. I think I have found my IEMs for the foreseeable future. Thanks for the review. I was able to make a good choice between this info and other info I found on this forum and the interwebs.

@Navmau,
You should consider changing the title of your review thread to the appreciation thread.  This one seems to be the most active and the MG7 deserves an appreciation thread.  If you do, I'd like to request you link to these 3 threads in your first post for further information:

The mg7 by no means needs amping but does scale very well.  When using it with my Headstage dac cable and JDS O2 amp, bass is tighter and treble sounds really, really good.  Crisper and clearer.

I agree the Samsung Galaxy S II is that bad that I needed a different source. I returned my Klipsch S4's and was able to get a Sansa Clip Plus and I rock boxed it and with default EQ the thing sounds amazing with the MG7 it also back plenty of power for this pair of headphones.

Fantastic! I remember when I got my S4's. I really liked them but I still found I missed my Atrio's. I went back to my Atrio and loved them...sold off the s4.
Would you believe the Atrio I had at the time was the MG5 driver, which is 2 drivers behind the MG7.

The MG7 totally blows the S4 out of the water. Enjoy 'em!!

These seem to be getting way more recognition than when I bought them not long ago. I've currently sent back the broken pair to their office in Hamilton, and am waiting for the replacement pair to arrive. According to the info on the return form, this will take 2-3 weeks, god knows why, but since I have two more excellent IEM's on my hands I'm not too concerned about waiting.

Hi guys,

I thought I'd give my review on the MG7's. For months I'd been looking for an upgrade for my Klipsch S4's and having a couple of threads on head-fi I first went for the UE700's (at this point Navmau had recommended me the MG7's but I was unsure). The UE700 were completely bass-light and treble heavy, good separation, soundstage and fit but certainly not an upgrade from the S4's so they were sent back. Next up was the Klipsch X10 and this seemed like a no brainer, the model above the S4's surely would be an upgrade from the S4's, I was wrong. The fit was the best I've ever experienced but the sound was inferior on every aspect, maybe the treble was just slightly better but certainly not worth they high price they chare for those phones. Next was the UE TF10's. These were purchased due to their cheap price on amazon and I must say they were amazing. The bass wasn't as good as the S4's but everything else was brilliant. The mids crystal clear, the treble was sparkling, the separation weas superb and the soundstage was outstanding. In fact the treble, separation and soundstage is the best I've ever experienced. BUT the fit was awful. I mean I need phones for commuting and these are just not ideal. So they were also sent back.

At this time I had read a lot about the JVC's FXT90's and on my thread I was looking for an alternative to the TF10's, many had recommended these. The JVC's were very much like the UE700 but with a slightly better bass response. I've still got them and will be burning them in, hoping the highs will be tammed later on. Navmau had offered me a generously priced pair of MG7's and I thank him very much for this. Having used them for a couple of days now I can safely say that they have the best bass response I have ever heard. It is not over blown as some might assume when they hear 'basshead' earphones. It is a very realist and natural bass response. It's exactly how it should be! The Atrio's are great for bassheads but this shouldn't confuse people into thinking that they onlt have bass. The mids, treble, seperation and soundstage is fantastic, very similar to my S4's but I'm afraid not as good as the TF10, but I guess that's expected when comparing a single driver to a triple driver earphone. They actually sound neutral/natural and respond very well to EQing. After months of searching I've decided the MG7's are a worthy upgrade from the S4's, although currently the S4's sound slightly better (except for the bass) I fell like after burning them in they will open up very nicely. I will also keep the FXT90's because I seem them complementing the the MG7's as a more treble heavy earphone. In a perfect world I would have the fit and bass of the Atrio's with the mids, treble, sparation and soundstage of the TF10's but having said that the Atrio's are not too far behind in these aspects, hence why I'm keeping them and sending the TF10's back!

The Atrio's are a fantastic pait of IEM's and I highly recommend them to everybody. Just give them a try and you won't regret it.

Special thanks to Navmau for all his help and advice!

I think this is because the Atrio's just don't want to advertise so they remain somewhat "niche" IEMs. It's not until reviews and impressions get the ball rolling where more and more people try them and are so pleased and post impressions, which spurrs more people to try them and it goes on. In recent times, I have seen more people realising these are not basshead IEMs but actually very natural and are balanced while being musical and not dry/analytical.

You are very welcome (I have passed on your thanks to my friend for the Atrio's). I am glad they are to your liking. I noticed a big improvement in the overall presentation after ~50hrs of burn-in. The mids and highs along with soundstage are much better.

Personally, I found no comparison between the Atrio and S4's or even the x10's. After burn-in, I am confident you will feel the same way :)

So does anyone have any specific music/song that they feel just sounds amazing with these Headphones? I would love to just listen to new music. When I come across something I will definately share.
