How's everyone doing?

Its been awhile since I posted here, been enjoying my school food punishment too much

My volume is actually pretty standard for most of my songs. My Valhalla amp is around 10 o clock and my foobar volume bar is around 12 or 1. I try to not blast it too loud but just enough to be engulfed into the music.

First of all, all of you who looked at my linked "moe" hidden pic are suckers LOLOLOLOL. Have fun with that moe haha.

Second of all, thanks for clarifying more with the R04. Would be interested to know how it stays when you bring it with you running.

Third of all, define "loud". Like "fun" most people have different levels of perception of loud. For me, depending on whether it's my CAL!, Portapros or T50RP, it usually hovers around 1 ~ 3 on my E10, while all other volume software side is maxed.

Hisashiburi da na, IcedTea. Hope I don't embarrassed myself doing this loloolo.

Oh, and I wonder if the E10 is transparent enough. I am contemplating getting the Voldemort combo of DAC and amp together for a bang-for-buck transparent setup so that I at least have a "benchmark" for other distorting audio gear eventually. I like how I accept the inevitability of wasting my money on distortion-machines.

Those the most......disgusting anime eye's I have ever seen...sorry

Well do you mean coloration or just distortion in general? Some distortion can be seen or subjectively heard to be coloration though and the "better" it sounds is entirely subjective. To audiophiles u\yes it will sound better but for some types of music genres and songs specifically. Coloration (a bit of it) and distortion is actually needed to make it sound good

Linearity is just an engineering term meaning lack of distortion. And it includes everything deviating the end product from perfect reproduction.
A perfectly linear headphone/amp/dac system has Zero THD + N, 100% Flat FR curve, infinte transient response and zero phase change.

Whether perfect linearity is desired is hard to answer, but a perfectly linear system will most likely still sound very good. That is, if the FR response is equalized properly.

I haven't learned much Japanese so I will have to listen to you for now until I learn.

The use of de geso is a meme based on the fact that the character Ika Musume from the manga/anime Shinryaku! Ika Musume! ends pretty much every sentence with de geso instead of desu/da.

They are more or less supposed to be the same headphone. The Q is said to be a bit "warmer" sounding whatever that means and that's probably due to the housing.
.
I'm looking at the graphs as measured by Tyll right now, and there aren't any big differences at all. The differences in FR are small enough to be caused by random/systematic variation in the measurements.
THD Plot is almost the same, 30Hz square wave response is almost identical, and 300Hz square wave response is very similar.

They will most likely sound very similar, and unless you have a pair of either right next to each other they are going to be difficult to tell apart.
Reported differences are most likely caused by sighted listening/expectation bias if you ask me.

school food punishment?

A friend of mine once recommended that to me, and I must say they are quite good indeed.

Although I do wish more tracks were like the Un-Go OP they did last fall.

That's why I said they are more or less the same. People say they are pretty much the same headphone but the Q's seem to sound warmer. That is a general view of what I hear Every now and then I get someone saying the Q is outright better but I hardly see that. They are pretty much the same can more or less from what I see. I'd have to listen to them personally of course but I don't really care to get a Q over the 701 if I can find a 701 cheaper.

And that's why I said it's highly subjective. I can't possibly know what's loud for you over the net like this. I was just purely curious as to the volume settings you use. I just said what I feel is medium loud along with my volume pot positions. No need for you to do that if you don't want
