Wait.. what is this bitcoin thing again? Isn't this where random people get their pc's infected with a virus that runs in the background, taking up processing power and generates virtual currency for whoever planted it?

Nope. Bitcoin is a digital decentralized currency. You can earn bitcoins through a process called mining. You can download a run a bitcoin wallet and miner. Once you set both up, the miner finds blocks of bitcoins which is must mine out (by solving complex equations and such). The coins it earns gets sent to your bitcoin wallet.

Help go stop cancer instead.

And how do we do that? Folding@Home and BOINC don't have cancer based projects.

That and last time I remembered, AMD GPUs aren't terribly good at Folding@Home compared to NVIDIA cards.

Doesn't Bing offer some sort of rewards program if you use it?

I don't think it was direct rewards, but deals.

Bing Rewards
Get rewarded for searching and doing with Bing. Sign up for Bing Rewards and start earning toward rewards including gift cards, Microsoft Points for Xbox, movie nights from Redbox, and more.

Basically it's Microsoft's way of saying:

i never understood wat folding @ home was.

you use your computers spare resources (or many computers) to process schiit like studying proteins and schiit. That is the official story for why one would want to use it. the actual story is e-pen. Comparing folding at home e-pen groups with one group over another to see who has processed more e pen schiit. OCN is the best place to compare Folding at home e-pens. Got huge e-pens their for F@H comparing.

TOLD YA!!!!!

I thought somebody here wanted it? $40 is quite cheap?

Lol yup. It's the ORIGINAL G15... That I bought 3 years ago or so for $50... How much do you think it's worth anyway? Craigslist is full of lowballers anyway though, so whatever price I set probably won't be final unless it's fairly low.

I wasnt' talking about under dogs. I was just saying that OCN has one of the biggest F@H epen.

But yeah sure, join those groups for F@H.

Official statement is helping with cancer and protein and gene research of course. But once it got out that people could compare e-pens and sites created e-pen guilds(even manufactuerers of pc parts like ASUS ROG have a 'guild') it grew like wild fire.

Seriously....it worked well. e-pens!!! 4 life!

Hm, so it's pretty much a program that kinda works like a server/supercomputer in helping w/ processing/retrieving info for cancer. gotcha.
