If you like Jojo's at any one point of time in your life, then you should follow that. I think it's a good start.
Shinsekai yori is kind of good too from what I see. Hopefully all the hope and hype that people put by saying that it's great based only on ep. 1 would be crushed at the end of the season. Just schadenfreude.
BTOOOM! seems okay-ish too. A better Huger Games (movie).
That's it from what I watch currently. There's also the other group-of-dumb-wannabe-cute-girls anime shows if you're into those kinds of things. Also more KyoAni flavoured chubby fat sack excuse of cute girls. And JCStaff's. And the other companies' pandering style of chubby fat sacks excuse for cuteness.

When you said 'jojo' just now I thought you referred to this thing:

And I naturally was in complete confusion.
Still don't know what you're talking about.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Finally a proper series for it.

Also Magi seems good too. It's been a long time since I read the manga, so I don't care if it doesn't follow it though. This is one thing I don't want it to do a GC. Although I don't know what it would like to imitate though since this is a manga first, not like GC. Well 'to do a GC' is a phrase now, so yeah.

Hey all, I'm back.

I'm taking a break/quitting GW2, don't really have the motivation to play it anymore. I gave out my fortune to random friends I made in-game. There goes about 500 hours of playtime over the past month and a half, crazy.

Welcome back!

I want to get Guild Wars 2. (TT-TT)

I care about aesthetics too, haha, just in a different way. I don't think we can get too crazy with this DIY project that borisu is so graciously taking on for us.

Would it bother you a lot to have just 2 buttons on the front? Power and I/O maybe? That's my wish anyway. I guess nobody so far is too bothered by gain being on the back? Should we take a vote or attempt at some organization or something so we can start getting this sorted out?

Haha. Okay. Time to make a different, simpler design (LaCie Porsche External Hard Drive + Schiit Units + Fractal Design? I don't know...I'll see what I can think of).

Okay, 2 buttons I'm fine with. It will probably be unit power and gain (I forgot what you meant by I/O...as in source/input or turning the DAC or headphone amplifier off individually?).

I'd prefer switches on the back for a cleaner look, but honestly it doesn't look bad with the buttons I have in mind on the front either so I don't really care. I might be able to design something to make use of the push button vandal switches. I think something unique might be the switch with the ring of light around it behind the front panel. Then there's an extension button in front of it so I get the look I want. When you push it, the area surrounding the button extension will light up and have this cool halo effect.

There's like a 10 post/15 day rule thing I think. Or when I last tried earlier today I couldn't. Maybe I'm just awful at using UI?

Really? I don't remember that...but I signed up almost a year ago so I don't know if they imposed new restrictions. I think Overclock.net did that once...I think they removed it.

Don't.
Although if you built a digitally controlled stepped pot and a PCI interface, you could build yourself a kickass sound card for (relative) cheaps.

That would be pretty interesting, but no thanks.

Ah well, I decided not to watch either of those two.

I have the tendency to drop those kinds of shows after a couple episodes, so I'm not even gonna bother.

Meh. Akito. Typical reaction to typical style of anime. Expected.

@tilpo, aww too bad. Well I've touched both of those in manga form, so it's a given that I must now watch it. In fact, Jojo's BA is one of the first thing that I hardcore marathon to the point of not sleeping. I can't remember the last time I did that kind of marathon. I guess I did once for Oyasumi Punpun. It got me very very very depressed though.

@borisu
Got the answer.

USB takes priority over coax.

They then sent me a picture which apparently shows the dimensions on it, but I can't look at it because apparently one needs an eBay HK account to do so? Here's the link (I don't know if this will work or not):

Thanks!
I made an ebay...but but can't open it either....

I was also thinking. Looking at the picture of the DAC board, I noticed it looks like there are four little indicators on the right side. Power, USB, coax, and lock. I don't know if this is how it works, but what do you think about putting a lock indication on the front panel instead of 96kHz? This would actually be a useful thing to have and seems to make way more sense.

actually yeah. ill do that.

Wow, so much happened while I was asleep! Haha!
Good luck in Georgia bowei.
It seems like we need 2 cases for project H, one that's wider and has more lights, buttons, ect on the front and then one that is longer and more minimalist, like Hybrid's design.

Excuse my ignorance, but what would a "lock" do on a DAC?

lock = no input

Blender can't import .STEP files. Here's the import selection menu.

I believe you can export in .wrl.

you have GOT to be kidding me.....

Boris explained it to me earlier. The I/O button switches between internal and external mode. Internal means it uses the internal DAC and amp. External means DAC line out and amp line in are active. Pushing the button toggles between the two states.

I'd really prefer power and I/O button on the front. I will be using the I/O button very frequently in my setup, so it would be annoying to have it in the back. It's a more important and basic function than gain I think anyway. If everyone else is ok with that of course. I haven't noted any real objections to gain being on the back from anybody, so I think it makes more sense for that to be on the back.

I don't know if boris has already bought the buttons or not, but maybe if we used some smaller ones, we would be able to retain a more minimalist aesthetic for Haibu while simultaneously keeping all the functionality of having front panel controls?

Anyways, to sum up, this is my vote:

Front: Power, I/O button, headphone out, volume, whatever LEDs we need (USB and coax at the very least?)
Back: Gain, power supply jack, USB & coax, DAC RCA line out, amp RCA line in

Missing anything? What say the rest of you?

I really hate the idea of having any buttons in the back.....
it looks horrible....

I've bought buttons and connectors for 1 unit.
but then other buttons stick out too much...

I thought we weren't doing that. IIRC this was all being controlled by the microprocessor onboard.

Buttons on the back look horrible. REMEMBER THAT I'M NOT DOING THAT. I'M DOING ROCKER SWITCHES.

Hm. Does it necessarily have to be a button? Why not a switch? If it already has to be a button though, I agree, back would be weird.

Couldn't find any better buttons then? Well, I myself don't mind having everything on the front. Just trying to compromise with Haibu :)
