  OK then

Kinda like 'news' and history.

Not many 'cultures' have a show of cleaning up schiit you throw.(Mainly because it is so new and something dealing with massive industralization and excess goods and a target towards mass quantity than repairability and quality). Most do include stuff about cleaning up after yourself, taking care of the 'place' etc, but as any person who has done reading on this stuff knows. If it isn't specific enough in a culture or context, then you can't generalize it to other things. The idea of enviromentalism in specific parts and sometimes wholes are often times modernly confused and attempted to be connected to past ideas based off the initial thought that a general cultural claim from then impacts current decisions.

An example would be that past historic examples of isolating members of society does not mean direct evidence towards a modern claim of how ADHD, Autism and other 'disorders or dieseaaases' affect society's view and action towards them. Each era has its own set of themes that it has used and while the pasts 'general' idea of what is done can be used as general evidence, you can't claim it fully.

See how convulting all this stuff is? Yeah, it is. There is a reason why you rarely hear any things from the real scientistcs, historians, enviromentalists. It is always the loud-mouthed few of the group that can speak 'media' terms that get quoted and in books.

It's just how the world is.

It's a culture thing.

Well yeah, the Dragon Boat Race originated in Southern China and it's very significant to those peoples. The race usually, or used to, involve representatives from various villages and they had a whole ritual for warding off evil spirits.

I wrote a 5-page paper about it. XD

Oh wow I totally misread the post. Lol
So much for that. XD

But to be a bit more fair, festivals like that on the beach are gonna end up like that for the most part, even here in America. I live by the sea, and have for a large part of my life in America. During festivities for some reason, the beachs get packed and it looks similar to that picture after, especially if there are lots of street vendors close by, is a decent city nearby, and has fireworks at night to keep the 'party' going.

Just finished Hyouka, it was quite a nice ride. Overall something I would have definately liked seeing weekly just because. Nothing overly amazing, but it did it's job and purpose amazingly well

Hyouka is one of the best AAA anime I've seen that used an extreme amount of human aspects. What I mean by this is that it uses a lot of body language, situation, general situation, and subtleties to tell its main objective, and it does it fantastic. It alludes the viewer into asking themselves personal questions that it then gives an extra 'hint' to to let them know if they are right or not.

All in all, Hyouka deals a lot with its name, and character development on a surreal-realistic scale and is one of the best I've seen at it. Nothing in the series is really at the forefront, not the mystery's, not the school life, and not even the characters. They are all more or less equally blended together into our four chracters first year of high school. It doesn't start at the beginning, nor does it end at any first year graduation, it drops you in, and gives you a taste of it.

The name of the anime deals a lot with the series. Hyouka, which means ice cream, that the series made into a pun of 'I scream'. A facet of truth in where reality is much different from boyhood dreams, and that if you don't keep up with the world and get strong enough, you will get eaten alive.

This was a major background to the series. The series after all, was on character development admist their first year of high school solving mystery's. Something that was amazing that I noted was that the worries, fears, of the characters were pretty well done out. Most anime give you characters that don't have much worry for the real world, but in Hyouka, there is often talk about expectations, being able to 'provide' a return for someones feelings, and taking care of ones family. Chitanda, despite how silly and generic she is. Has deep worries on what she needs to do in the future, and how she is slowly getting stronger to meet the force of society.

Chitanda and Oreki are like a Romeo and Juliet story in the pun of 'I scream' and getting stronger. It's so admirable and so ill fitting that the last episode was used to illustrate it. Oreki, a sloth that focues on doing nothing at all and Chitanda, who pulls him out of his shell EVERY TIME, to do something Yet despite this, there are often large overarching themes of familial differenceis, scandals, that the series arise, and the laste episode, we see Oreki holding the umbrella for a girl he thought unattainable, and the feelings that pound through his head.

Great stuff realy

All in all, while the series doesn't amount much in itself, it offers one of anime's best modern experiences in 'growing up'.

Imperial Scale for Hyouka gets a 7/10. Panda liked it.

If only Tenmon(main composer of all of Makoto Shinkai's films) was able to score some key scenes, this anime would be over the top amaze balls.

What the bloody heck happened to the animation quality in "Blade and Soul 11", this was one of the best looking animes of the season and suddenly, random schiit-tier MS Paint characters....

Read back a page or so, verdict on the Hugo? Good, details are definitely better than the Geek, but not by much, soundstage, about the same, Hugo might edge ahead in overall layering though ,it's not worth $2000 to me, at least. Not impressed.

K812, SRH1540, LCD-X, 2(pre-fazor), 3, Dita Truth, FX850, Roxanne Universals, HD800, T1 and TH900.... Among others. It was a local owner's unit, so quite a lot of Flagship owners wanted to hear it. :D Only 2 guys there actually bothered to A/B it with the Geek, and both agreed it's really close. I think we have a few converts to the Geek Force.

Ah nice. Lookin forward to getting the HUGO. I've been especially curious of how it'll handle full sized cans since I've never actually owned an IEM that I felt "scaled" appreciably with better gear. Nice to hear that the GEEK is close, that saves me a lot of money in the long run

k812 and dita truth impression plx :D

Hmm, K812 was... Underwhelming, huge soundstage as with most AKG flagships, bass was good, but LCD2/X good, but well done, I enjoyed the TDK OST very much on them, but treble sounded harsh to my ears, vocals become really stiff after a certain threshold and even trumpets and high-hats sound really sibilant if the source is even slightly off, bear in mind I was using Geek/Hugo ran out of a DX90 and AK240 Gold, components in the line isn't a problem. I'd take the LCDs or Fostex anyday.

Truths.... Such detail, they don't let anything slip by, if it's on the track, they will find it. I've never heard "Back in Black" or "Sultans of Swing" sounding so good, very robust midrange. Would have preferred a more emphasized Bass end, but for "reference level" bass, it does what it's supposed to do. Definitely not for anyone who likes their bass.

You know how people say the HD800 can be harsh in certain situations? Yeah, that's nothing compared to the K812.

I like the Truths very much. Now if only the pricetag is as lovable.

  Steam Summer Sale incomming soon
biggrin.gif

cue Heavy Breathing Gif

I really don't get why Steam always does its stupid sales in the middle or the end of a month.
Why would they do that?!
Great gif btw.

Someone brought in a working 3DS (broken top screen) for recycling.  Hmm, shoud I fix it, then sell it, or keep it for Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies and Fire Emblem: Awakening?

Fix that thing if you can. The 3DS really has a great selection of games!
